Mirana sits at Tim's desk, sighing heavily as she grabs the pack of Acetaminophen from the desk drawer.

"You in pain?" Tim asks.

"Just my back," Mirana replies, taking one of the tablets with some water. "But once this kicks in I will be justo como la lluvia. So tell me how it all works while we wait"

"What? The Sergeant's exam?" Tim asks as he pulls up a chair and Mirana nods.

"Do you get the stripes right away?" Mirana asks and Tim shakes his head.

"No. Passing the test is the first step," Tim explains. "You only get promoted when a spot opens up. You're at the top of the list, might take a month or two. The lower you are, the longer it's gonna take. And for some, they'll never get a shot. Be taking the test again in two years"

Grey approaches them, a frown on his face as he stops at the desk.

"Hey. Your home invasion victim was just assaulted. He's on his way to the ER," Grey informs the pair.

"Nevin? We just saw him," Mirana says.

"Marquel must have doubled back after we left," Tim says.

"It's got to be bad if he's in the ER," Mirana says, getting to her feet.

"Is your back better?" Tim asks as they walk.

"Not really but we need to go and speak to Nevin,"

"How bad is it?" Mirana asks Doctor Sawyer as they walk through the hospital.

"Fractured right arm, bruised ribs, couple of loose teeth," The Doctor replies.

"He's gonna be in pain for a few weeks minimum," Mirana says and Doctor Sawyer nods.

"Do you guys know who did it?"

"Yeah," Tim replies. "But we can't do anything about it unless Nevin makes an official ID."

"He won't do that," Mirana says, spotting a tearful Sasha outside the hospital room. "But she might"

"Good luck," Sawyer says before walking away as Mirana and Tim stop to talk to Sasha.

"How is he?" Tim asks Sasha.

"He's tough," Sasha replies. "Didn't want me to call 911, even though the bone was sticking out"

"I'm sorry you both had to go through that," Mirana says sympathetically.

"He's trying so hard to make up for the things he did. Why can't they just leave him alone?" Sasha sighs dejectedly.

"You know what they are Sasha," Mirana says softly. "Who they are. What they do. You know they won't leave Nevin alone until he does whatever they want him to do. We can help him and you, if you let us"
