"Are yous not coming?" Yelena asks as she points to the car to take us back to the compound. "Em ... so ... That way you guys can enjoy time yourself but we are also there in case anything happens" I look up to Evan quickly to see what she thinks and she shrugs clearly not enamoured by the idea but at least it's a compromise. "Fine, but yous are staying in my mom's side of the house" I point and grab Evan's hand pulling her to the car.
Evan's PoV
The whole car journey Kate just looked sad. She snuggled into me when I wrapped an arm around her but even still she was a bit down. I feel like I'm taking away all these normal moments for Kate. She's always worrying about me and I wish I could just give her a normal teenage relationship where the only thing we have to worry about is homework. As we approach Kate's apartment building I instantly start to feel misplaced. There's a man standing waiting at the building entrance, he walks to the car as we arrive and opens the door for me. "I just need to set the alarm and we can go chill" she presses a small kiss to my cheek and walks towards an alarm panel. Moments later Kate turns round and takes my hand in hers, leading me to what I assume to be her bedroom.
Walking into her room is the first time since setting foot into this building that I feel comfortable. Kate's room is just Kate. She closes the door behind us as I walk round taking everything in.
