As they were still lost and no clue to where the road to Vermillion city is, brock was looking at the map,misty was tired,ash was looking for more pokemon through his binocular, while Clara was questioning her life choices

"Clara are you ok?" Asked Brock

"Yeah why do you ask?" Said Clara

"You were in a daze and not responding to anything ash says" said Brock

As Clara looked at the others to see they were looking at her "yeah Clara what are you thinking about?" Asked misty

"What I was thinking about was if we don't make it to Vermillion city soon all our ingredients will be finished in two to three days" said Clara

As the three remembered that Clara was responsible for taking the cooking ingredients they panicked "oh nooo" said ash

As misty just sit on the ground "I'm so tired we been looking for Vermillion city for ten hole days" said misty

Brock saw something besides misty's leg"ah there's bug right on your"

Making misty scream and jump in Clara's arms "get it away" yelled misty

"Oh it was just a piece of grass" said Brock making misty very angry and she kicked Brock in the face surprising Clara

"I'm going crazy, where are we?" Yelled misty as the map landed in Ash's hands

"According to this where right in the middle of nowhere but it looks like root 24 leads right to Vermillion city" said ash pointing at the map

"Does this trail takes us to root 24" asked misty

"According to my calculate it does" said ash As Clara was trying to wake Brock up

"Alright let's get this show in the road" said misty as she took few step and stopped seeing a huge rock

"Hey ash take a look it this thing " said misty

"It looks like some kind of giant pokemon" said ash as Clara and Brock also want up to see it

"Pikachu!" Said ash as Pikachu hide "Pikachu" said ash seeing Pikachu hide

But it turned out to be a Charmander

"Charmander" said Brock as they all fall to the ground being dumbfounded
"Charrrr~~~"

Ash took out his pokedex "Charmander it's flame burns on the tip of its tail from birth it is said a charmander will die if it's flame ever goes out"

"When I want to get my first pokemon from professor oak I was disappointed cause I couldn't get the charmander now I can catch my own" said ash

As Clara clearly remembered he picked squirtle first but he didn't get any pokemon because he was very late but she wisely said nothing

"I don't know but it looks like it's in bad shape" said misty

"Yeah try to catch it and we will take to pokemon center for help" said Brock

Ash did just that but the pokeball was returned back to ash with a tail slap

"It looks pretty healthy to me do you think I should let Pikachu battle it first to weaken it and make it easier to catch"said ash

" why don't you let me catch it my water pokemon will be stronger against charmander"said misty

Clara had a thought that it could belong to someone

"Hold on a minute take a look at its tail" said Brock pointing at the tail which was weak

"There is no way it has the strength to battle ash try the pokeball one more time" said Brock
