After a long journey they finally made it to Vermillion city as they cheered

"Ah finally we made it!Vermillion city!"said ash with tears almost in his eyes

They were all dirty from the travel

" I can't wait for a bubble bath "said misty

" and I have to hit the laundry mat"said brock

" I can't wait to head for the library and grocery store "said clara sighing because they were out of food

" and I'm heading for the Vermillion city gym right now"said ash as he was about to run off Brock stopped him "hold it"

"Huh what's the matter?" Asked ash as Brock pointed to Pikachu who was exhausted and hungry

"Ah Pikachu" said ash picking him up in his arms

"It must be hungry" said misty

"Not surprising" said clara as they haven't eat anything decent for three days

"We haven't eaten anything decent for three whole days now" said brock

"Hey Pikachu you feeling hungry little buddy?" Asked ash

"Is that something to even ask!" said clara as ash stomach started to growled with hunger he was embarrassed

"Hahaha I guess we'll all a little hungry" said ash as clara shook her head

they headed for the Vermillion city pokemon center as ash handed Pikachu and his other pokemons to nurse joy

"I think it's hungry" said ash

"We'll fix Pikachu up" said nurse joy as they stared at her

"I know why you're all surprised I look like all the other nurses don't I my first cousin works in pewter city and my second cousin works in viridian city I think I'm the prettiest one don't you" said joy

As clara was going to open her mouth "you all actually loo-mnnnnn!!?" But Brock shut her mouth with his hand "yeah very pretty"said Brock

As clara was thinking of giving him a beating suddenly the door opened " hurry!hurry! "yelled a kid as chansey pushed his injured pokemon to the ER

" that rattata's in a ruff shape I wonder what happened"said Brock

"Oh it's the 15th one brought in this month" said nurse joy

"What?" Asked ash in shock

As they want to room full of injured pokemon "this is terrible" said Brock

"They all lost to Lt, surge the Vermillion gym leader" said nurse joy

"Woah he must be a great trainer" said ash

"So ash you scared already" said misty
"No way"said ash

"Well you talk big but then you see how tough it is to get badges you turn chicken maybe you should quit now besides the badges you have, you got out of pitty"said misty as clara walked in front of ash

" ok misty you shouldn't let ash quit before he could even try and let me remind you ash got the badge from your gym fair and square because if team rocket didn't get in the way ash would have beat you and Pikachu took pitty on you because he didn't want to fight a friend"said clara as misty couldn't defend herself because clara was right

"Ha you see clara know's I can do it" said ash

"I didn't say that ash, you can't be to overconfidence until you know your opponent, as i say know your opponent before any battle" said clara as ash was also silent
