We only had a couple of days left on our trip since we would be leaving Sunday morning giving us students enough time to rest and get ready for school on Monday. So today we were actually going to go sightseeing like we had tried to do yesterday but got sidetracked with the street performers.
"What time are we supposed to be at teamLabs?" Taesan asked as our group left the restaurant
"12:00" Jia answered "We have about 2 hours till then and depending on where we are, it could take between 20 and 30 minutes to get there"
"We probably should head closer to Minato City then. There aren't many trees in bloom yet so seeing more cherry blossoms isn't likely but there are still some other things to go see. Minato city is a little past where we need to go but that's the area" Hyoga spoke
"That's exactly what I was thinking. We can walk through the Imperial palace on our way there too" Jia replied
"Well then let's get going, Lots of places to see and only so much time!" I chirp wearing a bright smile skipping a little ahead of the group as we headed towards the train station
"You've been so excited these past few days. It's refreshing to see Rhena" Minhee smiled and I turned to look at the group
"Have I? I guess so I haven't really notices" I say
"You don't feel different? You've been showing more of your personality so yeah you've been excited" Garram said shaking her head
"I like to see this from you. Go ahead and step out of your box more. You really don't have to be afraid of it" Hyoga said and i gave him a grin
"Hmm, I'll think about it. That's something I've been working on or at least try" I say as we get to the station and we get to the train station. "Is there anything else that we should do today?" I ask the group
"We should go to Harajuku!" Kailan chirped, that was such a thing she would love to see that, but her saying that made me remember something. There's something I wanted to do with Hyoga, maybe on Saturday before we leave. I'll have to ask him later or whenever we get a break.
"It's going to take about an hour to get there from Minato city, its near Shibuya" Jia says
"We should have enough time to explore there today and then tomorrow night we will have to come back for Tokyo Tower" Tae says
"That sounds like a plan to me if you guys agree. I'm just here to be the chaperone" Jia told us as we waited for the train
"Sounds good to me" Hyoga says and the rest of us echoed the same sentiment. After our train came and we boarded our next stop was the Imperial Palace. The imperial palace was gorgeous and it was a quiet serene area. It brought a sense of calm and was a good way to start the day
"It's quiet" I murmured to myself as we walked through the garden. I took the time to take in the history of the palace and the surrounding area.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" Jia asked "It's one of my favorite places to visit every time I come back on tour or visit home in Kobe"
"Yeah it is. Its like I'm reconnecting to a piece of myself that I never knew" I murmur
"Oh that's right your mixed aren't you?" Garram asked and I nodded as I turned to her
"Yeah. I'm predominantly Japanese American but I'm Korean too." I explained
"Suddenly your screen name makes sense" Kailan says as we continued our tour through the palace grounds
"I'm surprised that you guys didn't put it together sooner" I laugh
"It's hard to get a read on you you know" Tae points out
