Beatrice and I run outside with the rest of the Dauntless and continue laughing the whole way up until we see the Dauntless borns start to climb the support beams that lead up to the train tracks.
I quickly freeze and look over at Beatrice.
"Together?" she says laughing.
"Fuck it, yeah" I say laughing and starting to climb.
I finally make it to the top and help up Beatrice. She then trips over her dress and falls on me. We both lay on the ground laughing as we help each other up and dust off our clothes.
"Well.. that's some start" I say putting my arm around her.
"No kidding" she says laughing.
I look behind Beatrice and see a train coming our way.
"It's not gonna stop ladies, let's go" a Dauntless born says.
It then zooms past us as we run as fast as we can beside it. It's getting further and further away, we need to pick up our speed. I start to run faster and grab the last rail while I pull myself in. Meanwhile Beatrice is still running. I quickly reach my arm out to grab her hand.
"Come on" I say leaning out of the train some more.
She then grabs my hand and the rail while she collapses beside me.
She looks over at me and we start to laugh again.
"You made it" a Candor girl says from beside us.
"Yeah" I say out of breath.
"I'm Christina" the girl says.
"I'm Shannon" I say smiling and sitting up.
"And I'm Beatrice".
"Is it me.. or do they wanna kill us?" Christina says laughing.
"Oh they're definitely testing our strengths" I say laughing back.
We all sit there talking for a few minutes when we hear a girl at the end of the cart say.
"Get ready".
"For what?" Beatrice says as she helps me up.
I go over to the door and look outside when I see people starting to jump out and onto a building.
"No shit.. they're jumping" I say to Christina and Beatrice.
"What?" Christina says.
"No way" Beatrice says as she looks at us.
"What if you don't jump?" I hear a Candor boy say from the other side of the cart.
"What do you think Al.. you go factionless" another boy says.
"Together on three?" I say nervously.
Beatrice and Christina both agree and we all back up.
"1..2..3" I say as we all run and jump out.
I land on my knees and stumble forward.. along with Christina and Beatrice. I stand up and dust myself off while I rub off my sore legs.
I look over to Beatrice and Christina and see them laughing.
"You guys alright?" I say walking up to them and helping them up.
"Man that hurt" Beatrice says laughing.
"Yeah my elbow is bleeding" Christina says as she rolls up her sleeve.
We all laugh as we fix our clothes.
"Alright listen up!" I hear a deep voice say. "I'm Eric, I'm one of your leaders".
Damn.. this guy is kind of hot.
