Seungcheol

Waking up to this pretty backwater was something I never thought of, I looked at the time, it was barely 7:20 am in the morning. I woke up and got freshened up. The way I was feeling right now, even after barely getting sleep yesterday night was actually surprising me. I have no idea how stargazing after dinner ended up talking about interests and then hobbies, getting to Nishi slowly was the thing I always wanted, so that I could keep her happy and safe; considering she is going to be my wife in a month and I can’t let her feel like she is just there in the name of my wife and I don’t even pay attention to her and her wellbeing. The fact I didn’t want her to feel lonely whenever she was with me at least, starting can be awkward but I wanted things to change, I was ready to give effort towards Nishi and somewhere I wanted that smile on her face whenever she smiled, that smile heals. It could be the definition of healing.

Once done, I went out of the room and went towards the kitchen and spotted the chef, “Good morning” and he smiled back at me.

He asked me about the breakfast and not knowing what are Nishi’s preferences, I asked him to make what he wanted to. After that, I went to look out through the window and it looked so pretty.

One side of me, didn’t want to wake Nishi up but then she needs to see these, considering how much she loves water bodies. I walked towards her bedroom, and without any second thought I knocked at the door, I knocked thrice and then I saw Nishi opening the door.

She just woke up but how could she look so pretty? “Seungcheol…” her voice was almost a whisper. “Ahh,” I almost forgot what I wanted to say, because from now on I am going to see this view every day after our wedding. “Get freshen up, and come to see outside, you couldn’t see these at night. It’s pretty” She tilted her head, she was probably still sleepy. “The backwaters Nishi, come.” The urge to hold her hand and pull her outside to show her and I just know she would smile like no tomorrow.

We are away from home, on a little vacation so why not be carefree? so, my heart decided to hold her wrist and bring her near the glass walls. I held her wrist and she looked so surprised, maybe this would be another step toward breaking the walls between us.

“Seungcheol”
“Just come” I took her near the walls and then I took her towards the door where she was standing yesterday and admiring the shadows of the city.

“This is so pretty….” I let go of her hand and looked at her, she looked amazed and what amazed me was the way she had the softest smile. “Now go freshen up and you can enjoy this while having your breakfast, we still have time till 9 am” she turned to look at me and nodded.

I saw her walking towards her bedroom and I almost thought to stop and just stand her so that she could admire outside and I could admire her. This was one of those rare times I’ve seen her soft smile. I went towards the living room and sat and was scrolling through SNS and then I saw her coming, once she came, breakfast was also served. “Thank you for the meal” She smiled at the person who served and then looked at me. “That was pretty, thanks for waking me up” and that was it for me. I was more than happy.

Since it was night, we couldn’t see the backwaters and it was like the most important part of getting a boathouse here and I am glad we saw it today. She was happy and so was I. Yesterday was like a calming night with stargazing and it felt nice because Nishi was finally talking. It felt like she was slowly taking steps towards the wall and breaking her slowly; I couldn’t be more and more glad about it.

It was a nice morning and suddenly I didn’t want this to end it here. Maybe Jeonghan and Noor did well, maybe we needed this.

‘You would thank me later, I just know. You guys need to talk and it shows you guys don’t even communicate and without communication, there’s no way you can even take this relationship forward without talking. I know I should’ve told you before but Seungcheol listen to me, this once. This thing is a need for you two, you guys will talk with eachother or not, only time can tell. And it’s up to you both if you want to talk to eachother or want to shut down like always. Just give it a go and trust yourself’ that’s what he told me before giving the phone to Noor and she asked me to give the phone to Nishi yesterday evening.

Right now we were getting off the boathouse and Nishi had a smile on her face, I wanted to keep this smile safe always. She thanked the staff and got off the boathouse. “it’s good that we are near Jeonghan’s beach house” I turned to look at Nishi, and I nodded.

We walked towards the beach house and we rang the bell once we reached. In a few seconds, Jeonghan opened the door, he looked like he just woken up. “Good morning Jeonghan” Nishi gave him a smile.

“Good morning-” he took a pause, “hope you had a good time” Nishi was about to hit his shoulder, but stopped midway and let out a breath, and Jeonghan was ready to get the hit, well he deserved it. “I am so sorry, so sorry. We thought it would be a good thing to do-

And before he could continue, Nishi spoke, “Even if you guys planned it together yet, you should’ve told us”

“And you would’ve said yes?” and Nishi went all silent, for a second. Jeonghan probably sensed it, “Aacha let it be, hope you liked it, and now tell me what do you want to eat? I am trying to make something and since I didn’t wake up Noor, so it’s me alone in the kitchen.” And that’s how he changed the topic.

“We had breakfast there but I will come down with Noor, I will wake her up.” He nodded, “We will have to leave for the airport by 11:30 am since we don’t know how the traffic will be.” She looked at me and nodded.

I saw her walking upstairs towards their room. Once I was sure she was inside, I turned to look at Jeonghan and gave him a nice hit on his shoulder.

“What now?”
“Hope your date was successful” I should’ve known about it, the way he was looking at Noor, I could feel it at times because I hadn’t seen Jeonghan look at anyone like that; there was that adoration on his face, and that silliness.

After bickering a bit, Jeonghan went to make breakfast, and I went to change my clothes. Once I was done, I went downstairs and saw Nishi and Noor already seated and Jeonghan was sitting opposite Noor and there was a very big smile on his face.

I went downstairs and saw three of them laughing, then I realized how the first night here when we came changed, and right now everything is a little better and light unlike that night maybe. Everything feels a bit light and there’s no longer the thick air that was there earlier.

There was a smile on my face, this was the first thing I wanted; I wanted Nishi to feel good around us, and me as well. I wanted her to talk to me without having any thick air between us. I wanted her to smile and feel lively. And looking at her right now I can tell that she was probably feeling better, somewhere I didn’t want to go back because of Nishi, looking at her like this just makes me feel better.

And there laid my wishes from yesterday night.

‘I want Nishi to be happy and I want us to be happy together. Please don’t let her smile fade away ever and let me be one of her reasons for the smile. And she gets all the love she deserves. Please’
