alexandra was sitting in a restaurant eating dinner all by herself. peace and quiet was exactly what she needed after her day at saltburn. everything started off smoothly but then she slowly started to remember everything

venetia and felix's laughs and smiles began to burn within her brain. their different talks along with all the fun memories they had. plus farleigh ran through the course of her mind as well

then she began to think about all the arguments her and felix were having up until the time of his tragic death. it was all too much for her to handle. alexandra made an excuse to leave early. she didn't want to be rude but she had to get out of harms way before she had a mental breakdown

she felt like she could breath now that she was alone, in deep train of thought. everything felt so different here now. all her friends have moved on with their lives happily and are living out their dreams.

but for some reason, she feels stuck. alexandra knows she will probably feel back to normal when going back home soon. she sipped onto her wine carefully before looking down at her lap

people continued walking past her wondering is she was who they thought she was. a few people ended up asking respectfully for a few pictures and autographs, she happily said yes to them all. soon after, it was quiet again

"ah, still looking as gorgeous as ever." she heard a familiar voice utter. as she looked up, she felt her heart beating fast

her eyes immediately widened looking into his...

she felt her blood pressure rising. everything suddenly felt like a dream. she was choked up

she gasped, "oliver?" he flashed a small smile then nodded. "how are you?" he asked but alexandra couldn't even register what he said. she didn't hesitate to stand up and immediately hug him. oliver chuckled quickly hugging her back

"i thought i lost you..." alexandra choked out while crying silently. oliver shut his eyes deeply exhaling while rubbing her back, "you could never lose me alex." he breathed

alexandra sniffled causing oliver to continue caressing, "it's alright alex, don't cry."

they both broke away from the hug then sat from across each other. she wiped her tears away still not believing he was sitting in front of her. "h-how have you been?" she asked him genuinely intrigued to know

oliver nodded, "i'm doing good. yeah. i've been keeping busy in grad school." he revealed

"that's great! what school?" alexandra asked

"stanford." he smiled. alexandra shrugged lightly, "i'm not even surprised. you have always been so smart." she complimented making him lightly blush

"what about you though? how are you doing?"

a silence was filled within their table. alexandra nervously bit her lip looking down shamefully, "i'm making it through." oliver frowned knowing exactly what she was trying to say

"i'm happy and content with life right now but i still think i'm healing from you know..." she shrugged, oliver looked at her with sadness

"it just takes time. take it day by day." he suggested making her chuckle and look at him with a frown, "why'd you change your number?" she asked suddenly needing an answer

oliver sighed, "i erm got a new phone.."

"you didn't let me know anything. i tried looking for you, doing everything i could hoping to be able to contact you. but you just disappeared off the face of the earth and ghosted me." alexandra claimed with tears forming within her eyes

"alexandra, that wasn't my intention." oliver assured with pleading eyes. he could tell that he fucked up big time which wasn't what he was trying to do at all.

"i've never liked anyone as much as i like you." oliver said passionately. "i'm just not good with showing emotions and i figured you had a boyfriend by now."

"i don't. never have." she confirmed making his eyes soften upon hearing that. "just don't do it again, okay? you hurt me really badly and had me worried sick about you."

"i won't. i'm really sorry." he apologized as she cracked him a smile. her phone suddenly began to ring. she looked to see that it was elsbeth calling her but she decided to call her back later: knowing exactly why she was calling

"do you need to go somewhere?" she immediately shook her head, "no um elsbeth is probably expecting me to spend the night."

oliver raised his eyebrows upon hearing her name. he hasn't spoken to her or sir james since that day that alexandra was in the hospital, "you're staying at saltburn?" he asked nosily

she answered quickly, "no. i can't." she began to feel cold, goosebumps appearing on the back of her neck. "too many memories. i'm just not ready."

"where will you stay?" oliver immediately changed the subject not wanting to see the beautiful girl sad

she bit her lip just now realizing she hadn't even gotten that far into thinking, "i'll just book a room somewhere here in town."

"why don't you erm... come stay with me?" she shot him a quick glare making him nervously cough aloud, "only erm i-if y——-you want too."

she smiled, "of course, only if you're okay with it?" she asked nicely. oliver nodded, "of course." with that being said, alexandra paid her bill then the two left getting into her drivers car heading to his nice flat. he brought her luggage in quickly putting it into his enormous closet

"you take my room and i will sleep on the couch." oliver announced walking over to her. she rolled her eyes, "i'm not taking your bed. i'll be fine on the couch."

"alex, now don't be ridiculous..." he trailed off

"i'm not coming into your place taking your bed away from you. it's not happening." she concluded crossing her arms making him smirk

"or you could just..." alexandra looked at him waiting for him to finish his sentence, but he never sadly did. looking into those brown eyes of hers made him realize she was still the same innocent and pure girl he met years ago.

she was more than just what he was about to say. he remembered how much respect he has for her along with admiration. "nothing. i'm sorry erm, couch it is. but you are more than welcome to switch whenever you feel like doing so." he promised

alexandra caught herself staring at him for awhile as he did the exact same. "i missed you.. so fucking much." oliver said quietly walking even closer to her. he placed a kiss on her forehead before leaving her to get some rest
