four years later
sometimes change is good. everyone needs it in their lives every once in awhile. change is scary at times, but sometimes good things come with sacrifice.
after that horrid week at saltburn and her suicide attempt, alexandra went back home willingly with her aunt donatella. she knew it had to be done. if she stayed at saltburn with sir james and elsbeth, she would be consumed by all the memories with them all. it would depress her and eventually the devil would come knocking at her door yet again
donatella had alexandra put into a psychiatric hospital for a month. she refused to let her niece come back home and go on as if her attempted suicide never even happened. that wasn't how she rolled. alexandra wasn't even pissed with her. if anything she was grateful she did that
it ended up saving her life.
of course alexandra was put in one of the best psychiatric hospitals in the world that just so happened to luckily be near their hometown. it was thirty minutes away. private facility. best treatment. best doctors. alexandra adjusted quite well staying there. all of the doctors examined her carefully day in and day out
her doctor came to the conclusion that nothing was wrong with her. anybody would have lost their mind after all the shit alexandra endured those two days at saltburn. plus the dark secrets that laid amongst that place on top of the abuse she suffered from felix... it all just came to a halt when venetia died
alexandra was very hesitant on telling her doctor at the psychiatric hospital about what she went through plus found out. it took her a few weeks to open up but she eventually did. talking about it helped her out a lot. the doctor was absolutely shell shocked when she revealed everything. he couldn't help but to feel bad for the teenage girl
he was completely weirded out finding out about the incest. in fact, he threw up upon hearing about it needing a minute to pull himself together....
alexandra didn't dare utter a word to her aunt donatella about it. she never plans on telling her or her therapist who she still keeps contact with. letting one person know about it was enough.
her sanity felt in tact after talking about it. she felt like she could move on with her life after expressing everything especially her feelings towards felix. before they left, elsbeth gave the necklace that felix gifted her back to alexandra. the cops let them keep it after the investigation was closed. she didn't wear it nor did she destroy it. alexandra kept it in a jewelry box back at her aunt's house.
to this day, she still hasn't opened it. she never will. hate isn't the word used to describe her feelings towards felix. but she still has love for him and even thinks about him from time to time, venetia as well. alexandra eventually let herself off the hook forgiving them both for their wrongs. she had too or else she would have turned into a bitter person. nobody wanted that for the girl
