The merman stood on his newly formed legs and stretched.

 He had been waiting for what felt like eternity to avenge his family.He took in a deep breath and followed the scent of his mate's blood.

He thought of the scenarios if he found his mate and child dead. He clenched his fist and thought of the hopeful chance he could have. He could feed his healing blood to Amatheia, but he wasn't sure for their child.

He stopped and held his face in his hands to wipe away the tears.

 No. He won't think of the negatives.

He continued on his trail. He came upon a small, warm cottage that's when her scent stopped. He become angry all over again and slipped his dirk from his pack and headed for the door.
