18. ur so sweet! pt2

We arrive at the hospital. Duncan is carrying courtney to the hospital and we run after them. They free up a room and lay courtney down.
C: god why right now?
H: its okay.
I hold her hand and she squeezes it so tight it becomes red.
H: okay... That hurts
Courtney lets me go
C: im sorry! I cant believe she has to come out right now!
H: wait. Its a girl!?
We all sit there, shocked.
C: umm... I forgot to tell you!
H: HOW CAN YOU FORGET!
C: pregnancy brain
Court moaned in pain when the nurse walked in
N: its time. I would like everyone to leave except the dad.
H: of course!
Me and alejandro get out of the room. We sit down in the waiting area, awkwardly.
I hope the birth goes fast. I mean, i saw court doing workouts to help fasten labour, but who knows if they work?
There was awkward silence between me and alejandro.
H: im gonna go get pretzels.
I get up from the chair and head out to the vending machine. I buy the pretzels and walk past the baby room.
I look at the babies, remembering my childhood. When i dreamt of having a child, played with newborn dolls, it was a dream, to walk down the aisle in that white cupcake-looking dress, with flowers in my hand, all eyes on me. Maybe someday.
I get out of the room and sit back down on the chair. I hand alejandro some pretzels.
After some time, we heard a baby crying. The nurse opened the door.
N: you can come in now.
We saw courtney, laying down.
C: hi guys.
H: hi court! How are you? Do you need anything?
C: im fine.
The doctor walks into the room with a baby.
Doc: shes a healthy baby girl! Congratulations!
He handed courtney the baby and i look at it. Its so sweet, the moment it was in her mommys hands.
C: meet baby elanor!
She said laughing.
H: shes adorable.
A: maybe we should all get out, court how long will you be in the hospital?
C: the doctors said i can get out tommorow, since im healthy
H: thats great!
C: yeah. Its amazing shes finally here. After waiting for so long!
H: okay we will be heading out. Bye court!
Me and alejandro get into the car.
A: ill drive you home.
H: okay.
We were sitting in silence. What do you even say after doing it?
We arrived at my home.
H: you can.. stay over if you'd like?
A: i cant. I have to get home.
H: its okay.
A: bye gorgeous.
H: bye!
I close the door and unlock the front door. Alejandro drives off and i walk into the house. Its weird coming into the home without court to greet me. Atleast its only for one night.
I dropped into my bed, took off my heels and drifted away to sleep.
