(Steven's POV)

I walked up to the door ; the floor boards creaking with each step I took. I took yet another deep breath trying to compose myself. I knocked 3 times and stood their rocking back and forth with my hands behind by back as I slightly hummed a tune to calm me down. I could hear rustling inside as if someone was in a hurry to open the door. A clicking sound on the other end was heard and then a creek as the door opened revealing Y/n's mother

"Oh hi Steven you look absolutely handsome, Y/n will be down in a second, come in" I nervously nodded and entered the house and then mumbled out a thank you. I played with the sleeves of my jacket nervously tugging the fabric back and forth trying to find ways to suppress my growing nervousness.

The clicking of heels was heard against the floorboard. I pulling my eyes away from my nervous antics and looked to see Y/n at the top of the staircase looking beautiful in her outfit. It felt like a cliche scene out of a movie. As she descended down the stairs, her beautiful hair flowing behind her, my heart beat increase. An angel is what she was. What she is. Beauty and magnificence.

I was too stunned to realize her looking right at me, eyebrows raised and eyes filled with concern. Her eyes. Captivating as always the deep colours that you could get sucked into if you looked too long.

"Hi Steven, you look great." an angelic voice suddenly said. I shook myself internally out of my daze and blinked away trying to decrease the fact that I was staring at her for what seemed like hours.

"O-oh I- uhm thanks" I stuttered out, mentally slapping myself for embarrassing myself in front of her.

"Thank you" she replied, her beautiful smile plastered on her face. "Are you ready to go? I can't wait"

"Oh yeah me either, come on let's go." We waved goodbye to her mom and exited the house. I opened the door to my car for her music still softly playing on the radio "Ladies first"

She giggled
"Thank you" stepping into the car as I closed the door and walked to the drivers side. I enter the car and put my seatbelt on glancing at the girl who was watching herself in the camera of her phone fixing any loose strands of hair on her head and making sure her lipgloss was shining. I still thought she looked perfect no matter what and no amount of imperfections she saw in herself would change the way I felt when I saw her.

"You okay Steven" I look to fully face the girl whose face had been contoured with concern.

"Yeah I'm fine let's just go" trying to ignore my rapid heart rate and lessen her worries. I put my seatbelt on and headed in the direction of the location in which we would have our date.

(Time skip pookies)

We arrived at the Carnival. The colours of all the rides and the boots almost completely invisible in the bright sun.
"Okay so we can do whatever we want. Where do you want to go first?" I asked her. She looked around for a bit with a bright smile on her face.

"Let's play ring toss I'm sure I can beat you in it." Turning to me with a sly smirk.
"Oh you're on I'm the master of ring toss" she giggles at this putting a frown on my face.
"Sure you are."

I gasp jokingly. "Alright let's make it a bet. Loser has to buy popcorn." I reply knowing that I would pay for us whether she looses or not.
"Alright fine you're on Steven, it's a bet." She says, grabbing my hand and racing towards the booth where the ring toss was being held.

I turned my attention towards her and saw her staring at one of the prizes hanging. A beautiful white cat plushie with a pink bow. Instead of trying to win against her I knew I had to win for her. Still a bet is bet and I didn't want to expose how I felt about her just yet. Not realizing our hands were still connected, my face started heating up and i tried to hide the redness in my face.

"Alright Steven let's see what you got."
