Amy's dorm room was a canvas waiting to be painted with the colors of her university experience. As she stepped through the door, the space felt both unfamiliar and full of potential.

The air was filled with the scent of new beginnings, and Amy couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation.

Her eyes scanned the room, taking in the compact layout and the unclaimed beds. As she began to unpack her belongings, the door swung open, revealing a girl her age.

The girl leaned back, double-checking the names on the door. "You must be Amy?" Amy tucked the folded clothes in her lap under her bed before she stood.

"That's right." she greeted with a warm smile, extending a hand in greeting. "You must be Dana."

Dana, with a friendly demeanor, reciprocated the smile, adjusting the duffle bag on her shoulder. "Nice to meet you." Dana's gaze swept through the room as it went quiet. "This is going to be fun, huh?"

They both laughed, breaking the initial ice.
"I like your glasses." Amy commented.

Dana's brown eyes flicked up before she reached for the large, orange-rimmed sunglasses that perched above her fringe. "Thanks! They were my moms." As they started chatting, they discovered shared interests and aspirations. The room gradually transformed into a space filled with laughter and the promise of a new friendship.

Amidst the unpacking, decorating, and getting to know each other, Amy and Dana found common ground. They discussed their hometowns, favorite subjects, and the excitement of embarking on this university adventure together.

She learned that Dana was studying to be a botanist, wanting to fight climate change and stressed her passions about the changing world to Amy. And Dana admired Amy's desire to help those in need through medicine.

As the room started to feel more like home, Amy and Dana realized that this shared space was not only a dorm room but the beginning of a unique bond. The walls echoed with the laughter of newfound friends, and the challenges and triumphs of university life seemed a little less daunting in the company of a friendly face.

With each passing day, the room transformed into a haven of shared experiences, late-night study sessions, and the kind of camaraderie that can only be forged in the crucible of dorm life. As Amy settled into her new environment, she found solace in the friendship she had discovered with her roommate, Dana, turning what could have been a simple living arrangement into the foundation of memories that would last a lifetime.

On the sunny Saturday morning that followed, Amy and Dana strolled through the vibrant campus, taking in the lively atmosphere. The quad was filled with students engaged in various activities, creating a backdrop of university life in full swing.

As they wandered, Amy's eyes caught sight of Bob in the distance, throwing a football with friends. Dana noticed her gaze and grinned, teasingly nudging her. "Looks like someone's catching someone else's eye."

Amy blushed, playfully rolling her eyes. "I met him at orientation. He was just really nice."

Dana clung to Amy's arm. "Oh, he's coming this way!" Dana shouted in a whisper, her gaze trailing away. "Oh! There's Chris and Maddie!"

Amy tried to hold onto Dana to keep her from leaving. "Wait, where are you going?!" But Dana was already gone from her side.

Bob approached, greeting her with a smile, "Well, if it isn't Almond Joy herself. Fancy meeting you here on a Saturday morning."

Amy chuckled, "Hey, Bob. Just taking a walk with my roommate. What brings you to the quad?" She immediately reprimanded herself for asking such a silly question.
