Bloom closed her eyes once more, taking a deep breath. With her hand outstretched, she envisioned the flickering flames dancing in her mind's eye. Yet, just like her previous attempts, nothing happened. She let out a sigh of frustration, the disappointment becoming all too familiar.

Her thoughts drifted to Earth, to her home and her parents. She wondered what time it was for them and if they had already eaten dinner. A smile tugged at her lips as she decided to contact them.

Reaching for a small device on her desk, she activated its interdimensional communication capabilities. With bated breath, she waited, hoping they would pick up.

To her surprise and delight, her parents' faces appeared in a holographic projection before her.

As Bloom watched the projection of her parents, she couldn't help but be amused by their banter.  Mike was fumbling with their device, a perplexed expression on his face. "I could've sworn I heard it go off." He muttered as his brows furrowed in concentration.

Vanessa leaned over his shoulder, a playful smile dancing on her lips. "Just be careful, Mike. We don't want to break it." She warned, her tone teasing yet affectionate.

Mike chuckled confidently, his eyes twinkling with determination. "Don't worry, honey. If I can fix up an engine on my own, I can handle this alien device." He assured her.

Vanessa sighed playfully, shaking her head in amusement. "Sometimes I think you're more stubborn than Bloom." She teased, earning a playful swat on the arm from Mike.

"Well, she is my daughter after all. Just give me a minute to figure this out." Mike replied, his focus returning to the device in his hand.

But before he could make any progress, Bloom couldn't resist joining in. "Hello, Mom, Dad? Can you hear me?" She called out, her voice filled with excitement.

Her parents' faces lit up with joy at the sight of their daughter. "Bloom! It's so good to see you." Vanessa exclaimed, her voice filled with warmth and love.

Bloom couldn't help but tease Mike as he continued his struggle with the projection. "Dad, it's a little zoomed in." She joked, her laughter ringing through the room. She quickly explained how to adjust the settings, and with a shy grin, Mike followed her instructions, grateful for her help. "Thanks, kiddo, now what's up?" He said warmly, his eyes meeting Bloom's with a mix of pride and love.

With a smile, Bloom replied, "Just missed you guys and wanted to chat."

Vanessa's voice chimed in, "We miss you too, sweetheart. Is everything going well? I hope you've made some new friends." She asked, concern evident in her tone.

Bloom nodded with a sense of contentment washing over her. "Everything's going great, and I have made some friends." She explained, excitement lacing her words. "Thanks to Stella, I've met some really nice boys."

Mike's protective instincts kicked in, "Boys?" He repeated, his tone tinged with concern.

"Yeah, one's named Sky, and he's actually a prince. The other is Brandon, and he's Sky's squire." Bloom added, trying to ease her dad's worries.

Mike's brow furrowed in apprehension. "A prince? Well, prince or not, not just any boy can talk to my princess." He declared firmly.

Vanessa shot Mike a playful look. "Oh, Mike, don't overreact. Bloom has a good head on her shoulders. She's a good judge of character." She reassured him, her gaze softening as she looked at Bloom. "He must be very nice."
