Everyone was trying to hold back Joe, but I was focused on what Joe spoke.
" You're responsible" he shouted again
" We have to tie him or something" Jack said as he brought a rope
" You think tying me up would fix everything, you're already dead" Joe shouted
Tristan looked devastated at his friend's state, Joe was turning more like a zombie by every passing second. Tristan couldn't look at him anymore, so he turned his back and went away, Catherine followed him.
Kayleigh noticed them and was about to follow them when Angelina stopped him
" Let them be" she said stating the obvious
" But Catherine is alone with Tristan" he said, being the elder brother
" You're four years late to be acting like an overprotective brother" I dryly chuckled
Regret was visible on Kayleigh's face, he helped Kartik and Jack with Joe as they tied him up.
" What do we do with him?" I asked
" We gotta leave him behind or else someone else could get infected" Angelina said
" What are you talking about?, we can't just leave him" Kartik said with disbelief
" We know that you don't like us, but at least show some humanity " I spat
" Naira, Angelina is right, I don't want to lose anymore friends" Tristan came back and said
We all just stood silent as he bid goodbye to Joe, who was struggling with whatever was happening with his body
" Shoot me" Joe uttered
" I can't " Tristan said remorsefully
" I'll do it, you guys go ahead" Angelina said as she took the gun and waited for us to move ahead
After a minute or two, we heard a gunshot and then waited for Angelina to catch up. Everyone was silent for rest of the way until we decided to take some shelter as the sun was setting.
