" Yes, she was my girlfriend" he replied, with a serious expression
I felt a pang in my heart, it's not like we were in a relationship or anything, but my mood turned sour the moment I heard that she was his girlfriend.
" She remembers everything, but I don't, so I don't think , it really matters" he said casually, trying to lighten the mood
" It does, you'll remember it someday" I smiled sadly and went upstairs to overthink and cry to myself, I guess.
After an hour or two, Tristan gathered us as he explained the plan, we will cross the border of the Virtual World, and then we'll face the harsh reality according to Leslie. It's going to be tough, as it is not easy to breach the borderline. Leslie said that it's a heavily guarded area, we have to open the border from the control room.
It's way too much information to take in. After some food, I went out in the balcony to get some air, Tristan and Catherine are busy spending time with eachother, it was going to happen one day, I smiled remembering our food fight, they've come a long way.
" Hey" I heard Leslie, she came and stood beside me
" Hey" I said awkwardly
" I think Kartik told you about me being his girlfriend?" She asked
I just nodded, not looking at her and gazing at the dark sky.
" He didn't believe me first, but I thought he should know, and I saw how you two behave with eachother" she said softly
" There's nothing between us" I tried to assure her, it was more like assuring myself
" Are you sure?" She chuckled
" You don't have to worry about me" I said and was about to go and when she stopped me
" We were forced into a relationship by our rich parents, we were not really couples, but just pretended, you all knew about this, it was our group secret" she said as tears threatened to invade her eyes
" You were like this before also, one time you got upset at the thought that everyone was calling us the popular couple, you liked him back then also, but was shy to confess to him" she continued
" But Kartik didn't told me that" I said confused about the whole thing
" He will, he is also confused, give him time please " she pleaded
" Do you know how we got in all this mess?" I asked
" No, I remember enjoying with you guys, and the next thing that we were all tied to a patient table, and then boom here we are, I've tried so hard to remember why the hell we are here, but nothing comes in my mind" she explained
She is suffering the most, because of the burden of her memories.
" I'm sorry, I can't remember anything about you" I said feeling a little guilty
" It's totally fine, I hope we can be friends again" she said
Suddenly Catherine shouted, " There are BOFF guards surrounding the house"
Leslie and me looked at eachother in horror, and immediately went downstairs, everyone was panicking.
" What are we going to do?" Jack asked
" I'll help you" someone said and pulled my neck from behind while pointing a gun at others
