The hours passed by and darkness engulfed the apartment. In its spare bedroom, the only room that was lit, the two teens were fast asleep. But, soon enough, the ringing of a phone broke the silence and Danny's peaceful slumber. Groggily, she opened her eyes and looked around for the persistent noise. After a moment, she spotted Baji's phone on the bed. After reaching her hand around his head, doing her best not to disturb him, she grabbed the small device and looked at the ID. With a slight sigh, she answered it.

"Yello?" she spoke into the phone, her voice a bit raspy from just waking up and trying to keep her voice down. If she had a choice, she would've gotten up, but Baji had an arm around her. I'm used to it at this point.

"Hey- Wait, Danny?" Chifuyu asked from the other end, confused as to why she had Baji's phone.

"No, it's Santa Claus." She rolled her eyes. "Whaddya want, Fuyu? Baji's asleep." He's even starting to drool... Kinda cute.

"Eh? Did you guys...?"

She waited a couple of seconds for him to elaborate, but sighed when he didn't. "I just woke up, you're gonna hafta be a bit more specific than that."

"Are you guys together now?" he asked, sounding a little more excited.

"Yeeaaah? He's right next to me. Why do ya think I have his-"

"No! I mean- ugh! Did you guys confess?! You know, dating?"

"What? No. We just went to get my stuff from the Haitani's place and fell asleep. Geez. You read too much Shojo."

"There's no such thing as too much Shojo! Maybe you need to read mo-"

Not being in the mood for this tangent again, she flipped the phone shut, ending the call short. Looking toward the window, she saw that it was dark out now and figured that she might as well wake him up. When her eyes landed on his sleeping face though, she found herself smiling some. Despite how he usually looked, his features were soft. The usual hardened look he had was replaced by a more relaxed one, a look that almost made him look like a completely different person. With a small shake of her head, she brought herself out of her thoughts. "Baji," she said as she began poking his cheek.

After just a few pokes, he began to stir some, but just pulled her closer with a small groan. "Five more minutes..." he grumbled as he buried his face into the crook of her neck.

At this, Danny's ears definitely felt like they were on fire, but she still persisted. "C'mon, Baji. It's already dark out, we gotta get going."

He let out an inaudible grumble before asking, "Do we gotta? 'M fuckin' tired..."

Ever since the fight with Tenjiku, he hadn't exactly been sleeping the best. There was just too much on his mind these days. A good part of them being about the girl in his arms. She had told him the truth, that she was from the future, and he didn't doubt her for a second. He himself had witnessed time and time again how focused she was at times, how it seemed like she was at something he couldn't see at other times. On Halloween, he would've died if she hadn't stepped in. Kazutora might've been killed. And Mikey... he knew that he wouldn't have been able to handle it. Then during the most recent fight, she had almost died, herself. It made him realize how much he cared about her. They hadn't known each other for much longer than half a year, yet he found her to be one of the people he treasures.

"Yes, we do," she replied with a light chuckle as she patted his head a couple of times. "Don' know about you, but I'd rather sleep closer to home."

"Fine..." he said with a small groan, finally removing his head from her shoulder and letting her go. "Ya owe me one for wakin' me up though," he added as she stood.
