Chapter 17 : Confrontation Pt1

As the war raged on, the mermaids fought their way through dozens of cities, killing thousands of innocents and E.C.A.E agents. The captains were resting and planning. Alexander had been defeated, Hunter's soul had broken down, and Frost and Eleanor had disappeared. What would humanity do to survive?

As Aqua led the march to the center of Japan, she suddenly stopped.
Aqua:"W-What is t-t-this feeling..."
Melissa:"My queen, what is happening?"
Aqua:"I-I feel w-weak-"
Aqua fell unconscious. Melissa immediately picked her up and noticed a pin in Aqua's leg.
Melissa:"This pin is coated in... ricinoleic acid!!"
Suddenly, all the mermaids gathered around Aqua to protect her from any ambushes, while medics rushed to remove the poison from her system.

A couple of mermaid soldiers spotted something coming out of a tree. As they approached for a closer look, they realized it was a sharp, whip sword about 10 feet long. Before they could react, the sword effortlessly cut through their bodies like they were made of butter. Immediately, every other soldier scanned the area for the wielder of the weapon.

Suddenly, a woman covered in thin armor came running down from a giant tree and swiftly dispatched 30 more mermaids. As the mermaids prepared to attack her, dark tendrils impaled them.
Captain Marsalu "Papa's home!" He said as he threw his daggers into the chest of a mermaid, causing them to erupt into spike balls which killed the mermaid and impaled six others.

The woman in thin armor: "I see you're trying new stuff out, Marcy."
Captain Marsalu retorted, "I said I do not like that nickname!! Ashley, please stop using it!"
Ashley:"No," then she effortlessly cut down 14 mermaids with one strike.
Captain Marsalu:"Let's make a deal. Whoever kills the most mermaids wins. If I win, you stop using the nickname. If you win, you can call me any nickname."
Ashley:"Deal"

Then they split up, with Captain Marsalu taking the left and Ashley taking the right. Melissa shot a powerful magic arrow that hit him in the ribs.

Melissa: "I won't let you kill Princess Aqua!"
Captain Marsalu: "It's you! That bitch with the artifact."

Captain Marsalu said as he threw dozens of explosive daggers at Melissa.
Melissa: "Haha, you missed."
Captain Marsalu: "I wasn't aiming for you!"

Captain Marsalu summoned an axe made of darkness and used it to cut down the tree behind Melissa. As she wondered why he did that, the tree fell down, launching the daggers back at her. They exploded into spiked balls, slicing one of Melissa's fingers and cutting a chunk of her shoulder off.

Melissa tried dodging the spikes and succeeded, but she forgot about Marsalu just as he performed his abyssal armor technique. He grabbed Melissa and threw her into the sky, then jumped up and slammed her back to the ground. Luckily, she managed to land safely and charged up another magic arrow, preparing for the perfect moment to shoot it.

As Captain Marsalu was running down a tree, she shot the arrow, causing it to impale his knee and get stuck to the tree while he was coming down. While Marsalu was trying to free himself, Melissa jumped up and used her magic rapier to impale Marsalu through the chest.

Melissa: "I've gotten some new toys since you last tried to kill Aqua."
Captain Marsalu threw a dagger into her thigh. She immediately pulled it out.

Captain Marsalu: "That one doesn't explode," he said as he removed the arrow from his knee and kicked Melissa in the face, sending her flying.
Captain marsalu:"Time for me to get serious"

Meanwhile, Ashley using her Whip sword, swiftly and expertly cutting down hordes of mermaids. She moved with such speed and agility that the mermaids struggled to even see her. However, when they did manage to see her, it was already too late.
