"My dear diary,

Today at Caravos's hut, we made amazing discoveries. Caravos values the pieces he saved from the ruins and has been studying them for years. Our arrival, bringing another fragment, sparked new insights.

Mnesarete's translation revealed a sad story. Some unholy power destroyed entire villages, and their last moments were recorded in panicked writings. We wondered what kind of darkness could cause such destruction without anyone to blame.

Caravos proposed that this evil might have been summoned from nothingness to frighten the land. It is an unnatural power that might provide clues about the cursed ship and crew. I don't think it's just a coincidence that brought us together.

Most importantly, Caravos's colleague found another fragment that mentions the mysterious phrase 'Ki-ur Kakkabu.' We have committed to retrieving this piece before we miss the chance. Who knows what revelations it may bring?

Caravos has given us everything we need for our journey. With his money, letter of introduction, and guidance, we will leave for Susa at dawn to find the answers we seek. I hope this is the first step in unravelling the mysteries that have troubled us for generations. The game is afoot!

I will write down every detail of our quest in this diary. Fate is in motion, and its plans will be revealed. I'm going to rest now, preparing myself for whatever tomorrow may bring.

Onwards!

Yours sincerely in Apollo's Light,
Themis"

As the first hints of dawn crept through the moss-covered windows, the friends woke up from their sleep. The pale light illuminated the scattered blankets and worn pillows around the dying fire.

Themistonoe stretched her flexible limbs as Chrysomallo tended to the fire, coaxing it back to life. Ikkos and Dex skillfully rolled up their sleeping bags and secured them.

Mnesarete ran her fingers through her hair, still half-dreaming of pleasant thoughts. The scent of old logs, cloves, and birch bark lingered in the air, reminding her of the night's shelter.

The morning chorus of bird songs greeted the new day. The caw of a raven and the cooing of a wood pigeon filled the forest. Dewdrops sparkled like diamonds on the complex cobwebs woven between the branches.

Then, Caravos opened the door, leaning on his staff as he let the morning light into his home. With a smile, he served warm porridge to each of them. "Eat up and gather your strength. The journey ahead will test your stamina."

While they ate their breakfast, Caravos wrapped bundles of parchment and packed bags and water bottles. "Dried fruit, olives, flatbread, and spices should keep you satisfied between stops. Beef jerky will give you energy for your journey."
