Melione's heart never stopped beating fast as they traveled away from the auarasnake and towards the village. She could still hear the aurasnake throwing itself at the barrier trying to get to them.

"I hope I never have to meet another one of those monsters in my life," Grym breathed out. His body slumped against hers. "Melione?"

"Yes?" She bit her lip as she leaned back to listen to him. His breathing was ragged. That aurasnake had to touch him. Either that or the impact he took from hitting the tree messed something up in his body.

"We need to stop," he told her as he leaned his forehead against her shoulder. "I'm not feeling good."

Melione clicked the reigns and urged the mistbeast to move faster. "We're going to get you some help, Grym." She reached and grabbed his arm and gave it a small squeeze. "Stay with me alright?"

Grym nodded. "Alright."

There was complete silence as they got closer to the edge of the village. She knew exactly where the healer was located and rode toward it. She stopped quickly in front of the small, dark building and swung her legs off of the mistbeast. She gently pulled Grym down as she looked around.

Usually, this village was bustling with people, but she couldn't find anyone in sight. She hoped that the healer was inside.

"I can't see, Melione," Grym groaned.

Melione sighed as she remembered how dark her realm was. She could see everything perfectly, but she had forgotten that Gryms eyes weren't like hers. She stretched out her hand and released a couple of light orbs for him to see before she grabbed onto the handle and pushed open the door. Melione's heart dropped as she took a look around the small house.

It was a mess. Furniture was turned over. Large claw marks were carved into the walls. Papers were everywhere on the ground. Something horrible had happened here.

Melione grabbed a chair and pulled it upright before she pushed Grym down onto it. He picked up his head and looked around. "What happened here?"

Melione shrugged her shoulders. She'll figure out what happened here after she helped Grym. "I don't know, but you need help right now." She gripped his chin and picked his head up so he was looking at her. "Where did it touch you, Grym?"

Grym started to shake his head. "Its venom didn't touch me. Just its tail."

Melione's memory flashed back to when she saw him flying into the tree. She bent down and started to untuck his shirt from his pants.

"What the hell?" He grabbed Melione's hands, stopping her. "What are you doing?"

Melione ripped her hands from his grasp. "Some venom can be on their skin. Take off your shirt so I can see your skin." She got down on her knees and started to untuck his shirt again.

Grym grabbed the edges of his shirt and pulled them over his head. Melione couldn't help but stare at the muscles that lined his core and chest. Grym chuckled. "Like what you see?"

Melione glared up at him. "Shut up." She made herself focus on the task of finding the venom. She reached out and started to feel on his stomach for the venom. An aurasnakes venom can penetrate under the skin.

"Melione?" Grym started.

"Hush. I'm focusing." She continued to run her hand over his stomach until she found raised skin. She had found it. "You do have venom in you." Melione stood back up and looked around the mess for a small knife. She found one still hanging up and brought it over to Grym.

"What are you going to do with that?"

Melione knelt back down and brought the tip of the knife to the raised skin. "I need to get the venom out of you. This is going to be different, but the only way to get the venom out is to create a small hole and-" she trailed off.

"And what?"

Melione's eyes snapped up to him. "Suck it out," she explained slowly.

Grym scoffed. "Suck it out?" There was a playful smile on his face.

Melione rolled her eyes. She started to bring the knife back up to the raised skin when Grym stopped her again. "Won't you be affected by the venom if you digest it?"

Melione shook her head. "I spit it out. It won't affect me unless I digest it. I promise I'll be fine." She moved her attention back to the task. "Let me do this, Grym." Grym let go of her wrist and nodded. Melione pierced the skin, creating a small hole before she set the knife to the side and leaned forward. Her lips latched onto his skin as she started to suck on the small hole that she had created.

Melione continued to suck until she felt the venom come out of the hole and into her mouth. She leaned back and spit the venom onto the floor. She continued to suck on the small hole in his skin and spit the venom out until all she tasted was blood. She leaned back and placed her hand over the hole and a white light pooled underneath her hand. She heard Grym grunt before she pulled away, leaving no trace that the hole was ever there.

"All done," she announced as she stood up. "Just rest for a couple of minutes and you'll be back to normal." She looked at Grym's face and stopped. "What?"

Grym reached out and grabbed her hand, bringing her down to straddle his lap. Melione gasped as she felt him hard against her.

"Grym." She tried to be strong but couldn't help groaning out his name as he leaned forward and pressed his lips against her neck.

Grym shook his head as he chuckled. "You seriously can't think that I wouldn't have liked what you just did."

Melione gripped his shoulders and tried to push herself off of him, but he wrapped his arms tighter around her. "Grym," she swallowed. "We can't."

Melione couldn't help but lean into his touch as he continued to brush his lips over the sensitive part of her neck. "I know. Listen, Melione-"

"What the fuck are you two doing here?" a voice interrupted them.

Melione scrambled off of Grym and turned to the voice, another light sword in her hand. "My friend here was hurt." She lowered the sword when she saw who the voice belonged. The healer.

"Melione," the older man bowed his head to her. His bright, white eyes looked her over before turning to Grym. A smirk spread on his lips. "I think he's perfectly fine now."

Melione rolled her eyes as she distinguished the sword in her hand. "We were attacked by an aurasnake. It had touched him."

The healer, dressed in a long, black robe, floated toward them. "I was wondering why an aurasnake was still attacking our outer wall." He floated past them and walked over to an overturned dresser. With a flick of his hand, the dresser righted itself, opening its drawers. He rifled through one of them until he pulled out a small burlap bag. The healer opened the bag, handing Grym a dark leaf. "Eat this. It'll help bring your strength back."

Grym looked over at Melione before grabbing the leaf and putting it in his mouth.

Melione laid a hand on the healer's shoulder, bringing his attention over to her. "What happened here?"

The healer nodded as he placed the bag back in the drawer. "I wondered how long it would take before you would start to notice, Detective." He floated around the small house, flicking his hand around to make the furniture stand back up correctly. "Nothing happened here. Just an experiment went wrong."

Melione raised her eyebrows. "An experiment went wrong?" She turned around and pointed at the three large claw marks. "This was from the experiment?"

The healer stopped as he slowly nodded his head. "I was experimenting on a baby aurasnake."

"Why?" Grym asked quickly as he stood up and moved behind Melione.

The healer turned to both of them and shrugged. "I believed that their venom could have some healing qualities that we don't know about. I was trying to figure out if that was true or not." He motioned to the claw marks. "As you can see it didn't go very well." He took a deep breath before clapping his hands together. "You two need some rest after being chased by that aurasnake. Come, I'll find you a room."
