Chapter Thirty-four: Exams and Summer.

Start from the beginning

"Finally! This semester is already over." Amber says.

"I just can't wait to get to Boston." I say.

Michelle stops running around and looks at me.

"Did we say we were going to Boston?" Michelle asks.

"Yes. Don't you remember we chose to go this summer instead of last winter?" I ask.

"Oh.....we did. I must've forgotten." Michelle says.

"I didn't forget." Amber says.

"Can't we like....not go to Boston?" Michelle asks.

"No!"
"No!"

Amber and I say at the same time.

"It's been two years, girl." Amber says.

"Yeah.....I need to see my mom, I wanna see her. I can't imagine how lonely she must've been for the past two years. I can't stay another year without going to see her. I miss her a lot." I say.

"I miss my family a lot too." Amber says.

"You don't seem happy about it, don't you wanna go to Boston?" I ask Michelle.

"Well......you know......" Michelle utters.

"Oh.....yeah, right." I say.

"I get it." Amber says.

"Yeah..." Michelle says.

"But I can tell you it may not be that bad. We're gonna setup a summer camp for ourselves, aren't we?" I ask.

Before Michelle, Amber and I came to LA, we had a summer holiday routine. We'd find a place, close to a beach and setup our own summer camp 'cause we didn't really like the one that our high school host. We'd make tents, bring necessary things and other stuffs and then we may stay there for like a week, hanging out at a beach and other places. It was our own way of having fun during every summer.

We had earlier agreed to do the same this summer, when we get to Boston.

"Yes......that too." Amber says.

"Oh....that." Michelle says unenthusiastically.

"What's wrong, Michelle?" Amber asks.

"I just think we may be a little too old to be setting up tents and stuffs. Why not think of a better stuff?" Michelle asks.

"Like what?" I ask.

"How about lodging in a hotel room for some days?" Michelle asks.

"Hotel room?" Amber asks.

"Yes. We'll do all the stuff we normally except making a tent. A hotel room won't be bad. It may be expensive but we could afford to lodge there for like three days or four days....even five." Michelle says.

"Uh....that....doesn't sound bad. What do you think, Amber?" I ask.

"Well.....like she said, we can afford it so I'm in." Amber says.

"Okay then, it's settled." Michelle says.

"So, when are we going to Boston?" I ask.

"How about next weekend?" Amber asks.

"Isn't that a bit too early?" Michelle asks.

"Let's make it the weekend after next." I say.

"Yeah" Amber says in agreement.

"Okay....the weekend after next then." Michelle says.

"We should make this summer better than any other summer we've had. Who's with me?" Amber asks.
