"Mom?" I ask.

"Yes, Damien?" She calls from around the corner, and in the kitchen.

"When will dinner be ready? I am sure Maxx wants to eat." I asked.

"Soon, it should be done in around ten minutes, sweetheart." She smiled.

"Come upstairs. Oh, and we have school tomorrow so be well prepared." I helped him up the stairs.

We reached the top steps and I walked him to my room, where I sat him on the bed and cleaned his foot so he didn't get an infection.

"Thank you, Damien." Maxx smiled, hugging me.

I stopped dead in my tracks, shocked. Before I put my arms around him too.

"Uh, I think my mom called us down for dinner," I announced after some moments.

"No.." He replied.

"I am sure she did," I said as I realized that he was asleep.

"Leave him alone," Maxx mumbled.

Shit. Is he having a nightmare?

"Hey, Maxx? Wake up." I shook him a bit.

"Huh?" He asked waking up and moving out of my arms.

"You were having a Nightmare? I think." I asked.

"Yeah. I was." He hugged me once again.

"What was it about? Are you okay?" I asked.

"I thought you died. It felt so real." He cried.

"No, no. I am here. Don't worry."I smiled, hugging him tightly, letting him cry in my arms.

"Sh.. It is okay, love." I sighed.

"Okay." Maxx agreed.

"Thank you." He continued.

"No problem."

'Now, I think my mom called us down for dinner if you wanna go eat."

"Are you sure, I rather just stay up here and sleep."

"I will text my mom and tell her we won't be down for supper."

"Okay, I will just rest then."

"Okay. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

I grabbed my phone from my pocket and went into my mother's chats.

Damien 9:03: Hey, mom. Me and Maxx won't be down for supper tonight, can you bring up a few snacks unless we are asleep?

"Has she texted back?" Maxx asks.

"Not yet. Soon hopefully." I reply.

"Oh, okay." He smiles.

Mum 9:07: Sure, hun. When do you want the snacks?

Damien 9:10: Now would be great.

Mum 9:10: Okay hun.

Damien 9:11: Thank you.

Mum 9:12: Opened.

My mother walks into the room with water, wagon wheels, cereal, and Pop-Tarts.

"Oh, thank you!" Maxx smiles.

"Awh, no problem."

She leaves.

"Hey, love. You okay?" I ask, then look down.

"Oh shit," I say.

"Yeah, I am fine." He smiles.
