The next day, I descended the staircase and caught sight of Sanjay and my mom engaged in conversation in the living area.

SANJAY: Hey Vidya, can you bring mom to Aunt Maliga's house? I also have some more documents to hand over at Sir Kathir's office.

I scratched my head, feeling a bit hesitant, and sheepishly smiled at Sanjay, trying to avoid the task.

VIDYA: How about you bring her, and I'll take care of delivering the documents?

I smiled at him, my teeth clenched together, but Sanjay's expression turned to one of disgust as he looked at my face.

SANJAY: What? No way! You go with mom.

VIDYA: Come on, Sanjay. Since they already know that I'm your assistant, let this assistant fulfill her duty while the boss spends some quality time with his mom, sir.

I playfully altered my voice to sound like a boy's and teased Sanjay.

SANJAY: It's not fair.

KAVYA: She's right, Sanjay. She promised to take care of your company work. For the past month, you've been giving me excuses. Today, you must come with me.

SANJAY: This is so bad.

Sanjay slumped his shoulders and bowed his head before trudging towards the stairs.

VIDYA: Don't worry, your project will be handed over safely!

I called out to Sanjay as he ascended the stairs, but he simply ignored me. I couldn't help but smirk as I bit my bottom lip, feeling a sense of victory.

After several hours, I arrived at Kathir's office building by taxi. I was dressed in a formal outfit, consisting of a white shirt and a black skirt. As I entered his office, I let out a sigh and muttered to myself.

VIDYA: I want to know the reason behind his behavior.

I approached the receptionist and requested to meet with Kathir. The receptionist asked for the reason.

RECEPTIONIST: May I know why?

VIDYA: To hand over a few more documents from Sanjay.

RECEPTIONIST: Oh, wait a moment.

The receptionist picked up the office phone and made a call.

RECEPTIONIST: Hello, sir. Sanjay's assistant is here to meet you. Wait, sir. Hey, may I know your name?

VIDYA: I'm Vidya.

RECEPTIONIST: Her name is Vidya, sir. Okay, sir.

The receptionist hung up the call.

RECEPTIONIST: He asked you to meet him.

VIDYA: Okay.

I took the elevator to the third floor. As I rode in the lift, I couldn't help but feel nervous, and I let out a gulp. Once the lift reached the third floor, I stepped out and looked for Kathir's room. I noticed a board on the door with his name, Kathiresan, written on it. Taking a deep breath, I composed myself and knocked on the door.

VOICE: Come in.

Upon hearing his approval, I opened the door and hesitantly entered the room. When I laid eyes on Kathir, I froze. He was wearing a black coat suit and was reading a notice while leaning back in his chair. His right hand held the paper, while his other hand rested on the table, twirling a pen. I snapped back to reality and shook off my nerves, greeting him nervously.

VIDYA: G-g-good morning.

Kathir pulled down the notice and looked at me, raising an eyebrow.

KATHIR: Repeat.
