"This has got to be a fucking joke!" I frowned
"Rindou don't swear!" My mother frowned
"This is not a joke son. you're 30 years old it's time you settled down and got married. Your brother has" my father stated
"You're setting me up with some stranger I've never met!"
I was trying not to yell. I hated yelling my mother. Ran and I had minimal contact with them because of dad. He never agreed with how we lived our lives. we dropped out of high school and just don't respect him. We only stay in touch for mom's sake.
"Rin, y/n is a lovely woman, she's 27 so a little younger but I think that once you get to know her you'll see past the whole arrangement" My mom says
"Am I meeting her before the wedding?" I asked
"No you'll be meeting her at the alter, her parents want to meet you at the same time however they are all away on a cruise so you'll have to wait. They will be back the night before the wedding" my dad explained
"Well ain't that fantastic."
"Rindou that is enough you will be marrying y/n on New Year's Eve and starting next year as a married man who will be loyal and provide a good life for her" my father said.
"And if I refuse?" I asked
"Rin, hunny please just do this, It's very important that you do this..." My mom says.
"Why? What's so important that I have to marry this girl" I asked
My dad went silent and I knew they were hiding shit.
"If you're not gonna say why then I ain't marrying her" I say
As I was about to leave my mom signed.
"She's needs looking after, protected even. From an ex lover. Her father's a co worker of your father and we thought that because you're in a gang you and your brother would be able to protect her."
"Kathleen!"
"No! Daisuke. The poor girl is scared out of her mind, once they are married everything will be sorted and she will be safe. you will do this won't you Rindou? You aren't heartless..." my mom pleaded
"Fine. But this better not be some bullshit lie to get me to do this" I say
"It's not...the girl fears leaving the house to go to work, I trust that you'll keep her safe. You and your brother" my father says.
"Fine. I gotta go" I say
After leaving I got to the club and Ran was behind the bar.
"Where ya been!" He yelled over the music.
"Parents summoned, ya getting a sister in law" I say
"I'm getting a sis in law? When the fuck you been gettin' serious?" he asked
"It's arranged I ain't meeting the lass till the wedding day which is on New Year's Eve" I say.
"Damn bro, you seriously getting married!" Ran says
"Yeah no more freedoms" I sighed getting a drink and lighting a cigarette.
"Thought ya quit"
"It's needed. Can't bare being in the same room as that miserable bastard" I sighed.
"Oi Mikeys called Bonten meeting urgently move your asses" Sanzu appeared heading to the back VIP area.
We went in and sat down, Kakucho looked at me and then at the cigarette in my hand.
"I thought you quit smoking?" He asked
"It's well needed for what poor rinnys been through" Ran smirked
"What's going on?" Koko asked confused
"Fuck it yous are gonna find out anyways, I'm engaged, don't wanna talk about it." I say
"Okay scrap the meeting, the hell you mean your engaged" mikey asked
"I said I don't wanna talk about it——Basically he's being made to marry some girl he's never met"
Ran cut in and I just got more confused looks.
"This is why I don't wanna talk about it. Shits confusing to explain" I say
"Well uh, congratulations I guess" Kakucho says
I got a few more congrats of the others before mikey got to the point of the meeting.
