he remembered you talking to him about taking something extra a few weeks ago, but he couldn't remember what it was for the life of him.
"Jaune? did you hear me?"
"huh? sorry, no i didn't....what did you say?"
Pyrrha seemingly giggled.
"i said that you and (Y/n) seem to have a close bond."
"oh yeah! he's my best friend. i met him before initiation and he helped me."
"oh? what did he do?"
"i couldn't find my locker, he helped me find it."
"that's nice of him."
Jaune nodded his head.
he was fond of (Y/n)
whenever Jaune needed help, it seems (Y/n) would appear during his time of need and help him.
in fact, he helped Jaune realise that the feelings he used to have for Weiss would unfortunately be one sided, and helped Jaune be rid of those feelings, even if it did hurt to hear, or well, read the truth and have to accept it would never happen.
but even during that time, (Y/n) reassured him that there are plenty of fish in the sea, and that said fish could be really close to him.
Jaune gave it some thought when (y/n) said that and realised that he was right.
or even the time when Jaune was having trouble academically.
he didn't want to burden his team with helping him and he also didn't want to burden (Y/n) with it.
but even when he's not told, somehow and someway, (Y/n) always finds out and helps him anyway.
he's been told countless times it's obvious when he needs help, but Jaune can't ever figure out what makes it so obvious.
he wondered...
could he tell (Y/n) about his fak-
no.
no way.
(Y/n) would probably hate him for it.
"he's probably the nicest person i've ever met." Jaune admitted with a smile.
he then looked at Pyrrha.
"you're definitely a close second."
he didn't notice Pyrrha's slight blush.
"thanks, thats good to hear."
the small conversation ended there.
they walked in a brisk fashion with a comfortable silence.
they checked every room they could.
every classroom.
every training space.
even the cafeteria.
all but one room within their area was checked by this point.
the infirmary.
they both looked at each other when they stood infront of the infirmary door.
"last room."
"indeed it is."
Jaune laced a hand on the door before opening it.
the familiar white fluff could be seen, sawing from side to side.
"you are doing fantastically (Y/n)!"
they then saw Oobleck sitting down on a chair, his hand resting on his lap as (Y/n) applied a bandage to his slightly red face.
