Ch21 - Is it because of me?

When Bo Qin was little, his parents would argue often. There would be a small quarrel every two days and a big altercation every three. They would even occasionally get physical. Because of this, he trailed after his grandfather, an old-fashioned elderly fellow who was exceptionally stringent towards his sole grandson.

Although Bo Qin was intelligent, in the end, he was but a child. His grandfather prohibited him from playing with a good number of things. He could only read books and write words, studying everything someone of his age should not have.

When he was 8 years-old, he picked up a juvenile bird that had only just learned to fly.

That had been the first time he had truly liked another living being. He fed the little bird feed, changed its water, and even brought the little bird inside his room so that he could watch it sleep.

He had liked the little bird awfully much; 8-year-old Bo Qin believed that the little bird must have adored him just as much as he did it.

Or he had until his grandfather had opened the cage, and the little bird he had intimately raised up left him without a shred of hesitation.

That had been the first time Bo Qin had realized that whatever you liked, you had to clasp firmly in the palm of your hand, disallowing even a single chance for it to escape.

However, from then on, he had not a thing or a person he liked enough to want to hold onto forever.

Until–

Now.

The man slowly withdrew the ugly look on his face, carefully and gradually loosening his hold on the diary. Thank goodness only the cover was slightly wrinkled.

Bo Qin stroked the spine of the diary he would have skipped over if he were not looking for it, gently placing it back to where it belonged.

Xiao Mu was his, in life and in death. That wouldn’t change even if that thrice-damned secondary personality appeared.

He was his, forever.

[Ding! Bo Qin’s favorability: 94]

Xie Mu leaned against the lakeside railing, lazily tossing in fish feed, [ze, see, there’s a surprise.]

Xiao Mu.”

From behind him, someone called out his name. The youth turned around, a smile of pleasant surprise appearing on his face, “Bo Qin, you finished your business?”

“Yeah, I finally finished, and now I have time to accompany you.”

The handsome man smiled as he walked to the side of his lover, his large slender palm spanning across the railing. He bent his body slightly, his lips descending.

He didn’t wait for the youth to react before deepening the kiss. When the kiss ended, the look in Xie Mu’s eyes thawed.

Bo Qin slightly cast down his eyes to watch the flushing youth looking back at him. His chest was undulating up and down, his breathing uneven, and his inviting lips moist, as if glossed with honey. His pretty, round almond eyes were slightly disoriented with arousal from his teasing.

“Why’d you kiss me all of a sudden…”

The youth asked softly, hesitating for a few moments.

“Because you’re too sweet.”

The man observed him, his hands wandering over the youth’s body uncontrollably.
