Susbedo/flowerbedo fluff - one winter

The wind blew loud and frigid on Dragonspine. (Y/n) blew on their hot coco sadly tucked away in albedos research cave away from the cold grip of the wind. Albedo was out doing research at the heart of Dragonspine, (Y/n) had tried to join him like they do any other day, but today he insisted (Y/n) stay home due to how cold it was.

(Y/n) watched their campfire dance and crackle it's light flowing and flickering over the walls, they took a sip of their hot coco.trees smacked and broke in the distant cold outside, the crunch of snow underfoot approached. (Y/n) perked their head up, had their research partner albedo returned early?

Twig under foot shaped as the snow treading feet aproched, (Y/n) felt frozen in place, as the feet approached a pit formed in (Y/n)s stomach something was off but they couldn't decipher what. "Hey" that familiar soothing voice called from the entrance of the cave. (Y/n) let out a breath they'd been holding "over here" they waved to Albedo

Albedo brought the chill from outside into the cave, his body radiated coldness "is something wrong (Y/n)?" He sang "nothing just" they brought their hand to his forehead, albedo flinched "h-hey I'm just checking your temperature" (Y/n) retracted their hand slightly

"Im fine it's cold out so I'll be cold" Albedo assured them "...you sure?" (Y/n) hesitated the feeling of unease fliped around in their gut "I'm fine (Y/n)" he smiled softly "ah- ok then take a seat by the fire" they patted the spot next to them

"Something is off...normally he says he's fine because he's a homunculus" albedo leaned away from the fire as he sat, (Y/n) was half sure he'd fall backwards. They reached towards him again grazing his arm gently, his skin was as chilled as ice yet soft like flower petals and not human or human like skin

He flinched away staring holes into your hand before his eyes slithered up their arm to meet their eyes. He spoke no words studying their face closely waiting for a reaction "...um-" (Y/n) started before Albedo tensed, his eyes watched with the intensity of frost bite "calm- calm down man" (Y/n) said giving an awkward half grin.

Albedo smiled relaxing his body and giving a small laugh "your skin's really soft you know" they said studying his reaction "oh I was unaware...I forgot something...outside at the work site- I should go get it" Albedo or whoever this stranger was said abruptly before just as so left.

A few hours later as expected Albedo, the real Albedo, showed up. He waved quietly to them before taking his samples to his work bench "Anything interesting happen today?" (Y/n) questioned him "hmm? Not nothing of note, any reason behind the question?" Normally (Y/n) never had to ask the question as albedo would rant endlessly about anything interesting that had happened

"Something interesting happened a few hours ago to me" they said nonchalantly "you didn't leave the cave did you? I told you it's very danger-" Albedo started "no, no. Now let me explain" they paused waiting for Albedo to speak "go on" he put his full attention towards (Y/n)

"'You' came back early today" they smiled "you didn't have your star mark on your neck and you where freezing yet had the softest skin, and when I pointed it out you said you left something at the research site and left" Albedo stood silent for a moment

"Do you mean that flower copies shown himself again? And he wasn't aggressive to you at all?" He finally spoke "no not at all, maybe because he doesn't know I know what he is" Albedo nodded at the thought "be careful if you see him again, he is very dangerous" (Y/n) nodded knowing full well they where going to call him out next time he showed up

~time skip 1 month~

Albedo again left (Y/n) alone at the cave, the weather continued to get more and more frigid as the winter of Dragonspine started. (Y/n) thought back to flowerbedo, they wondered what he did in cold weather like this he must enjoy the colder months here. (Y/n) threw a furry blanket over their shoulders and peeked out of the cave.

The land was white and gray with lines of dull brown trees every now and then breaking the monotony of the dead landscape. (Y/n)s eyes scanned the landscape searching, for what they did not know, the flower? But why. Their eyes stuck on golden locks which peeked out from a close by tree

"Albedo, come inside" they called out to the mimic which sat against a tree close by "ah hello (Y/n) I dropped something, just grabbing it now, I'll be on my way-" it tried to exude itself "come in please" they smiled at him, at it, at the flower which grabbed their fascination.

He sat down at a chair by the fire which he scooted farther away whenever he thought (Y/n) wasn't watching "would you like something to drink, I can put ice in it for you" (Y/n) offered motioning towards some drinks which they had set by the fire to keep warm "...why would you put ice in it? I don't need ice" he twitched

"...I know..." they admitted "that I don't need ice?" The flowers shook lightly "I think you know what I mean" they reach over to the drunks pulling out a tea bag with a flower symbol on it, twirling it in their hand "...oh" he mumbled

The two of them sat in silence for a a few moment, (y/n) threw the tea bag back in with the drinks. "I'm sure Albedo would be willing to exist as your friend" they mumbled "...you don't understand...he had a family, I don't" they both paused again "...I think I'll call you Cresento? So you have your own name" (y/n) suggested "are you listening?" He grumbled

"You seem to dislike Albedo, why do you try to be him?" Cresento paused "...because he has a good life" (Y/n) chuckled "here me out, we say your albedos twin brother, you give yourself a cryo vision so you can use your powers without question"

"...Do you think that will work?" He picket at his gloves " I'm sure it will"

~time skip 3 weeks~

Albedo watched carefully as Klee was introduced to Cresento "Albedo why did you never say you had a brother?!" She smiled as Cresento "I never thought to speak about him" albedo said shooting a glance at (Y/n) "Cresento's never been to mond, we should give him a tour Klee" they smiled at the bright eyed child who was now bouncing around Cresento

"Yes yes! Klee knows everywhere fun in mondstate!" She clapped her hands before grabbing Cresento's nearly knocking him over and giving Albedo a heart attack "this way, this way I'll show you to the knight head quarters" Klee giggled

Albedo tapped (Y/n)s shoulder quietly "If he dos anything to endanger Klee it's on you too" his eyes narrow before returning to Klee "Klee slow down hehe im comming with you" Klee cheered "me too me too" (Y/n) chuckled egnoring albedos threats

"Cresento won't hurt Klee nor anyone else I know he won't" they told them selfs as they jogged up to the group joining in their tour of mond
