Heizou fluff - anxious first day

It was your first day as a part of the tenryou commission. "Don't worry (Y/n) you'll do great at this, plus your working with one of the top detectives today" your older sister Sara explained trying to calm your shaky nerves "b-but my uniform is too big aghhh this is surly a bad omen" you panicked causing your wings to flair out, ruffling your feathers.

"Calm down (Y/n), your feathers are going to need to be preened again now" you took a deep breath flailing out your wings for Sara to preen. Sara pushed and cleaned your feathers back into place, singing calming words and our plans for how their first case would go "and when we get to the station we'll get a smaller uniform for you"

After a small walk you arived at the entrance of the commission, still lightly nervous but less so then before they had left. "General Kujou Sara" a young man in armor called "we have reports of rift hounds by the Grand Narukami Shrine and lady Yae Miko has requested your involmemt in their removal" he reported.

"Guuji Yae herself? Hmm, sorry (Y/n) this is very important, a replacement uniform should be just over there they should have one in you size, see you soon" Sara called before swiftly leaving

"Nooo don't leave me heerrreee" your brain yelled as walked as not-trainwreck-ishly as you could to get your new uniform. You looked through all the sizes "are you kidding me? Ugh" you mumbled not finding any your size

"Excuse me!" You turned around to find a short boy with reddish pink hair smiling at you "Are you perhaps (Y/n)?" He asked happily which despite asking such a nerve wracking question put you at ease "um y-yes is something wrong?" You asked as calmly as you could

"Heh calm down now! I won't bite~" he winked "I'm your partner detective shikanoin Heizou" he reached his hand out to shake which you did "I'm terribly sorry if I was late to meeting you it's just-" you started "just you where looking for a replacement uniform? Sorry about that I was informed you where sent the wrong one so I grabbed one in your listed size" he explained raising an arm which you hadn't realized he had hidden behind his back which held a uniform in your size

"Ah thank you for your kindness!" You bowed "hey no need for that! Here, just go Change and I'll explain the case on the way" you nod taking the clothes and head to the bathroom to change

You and the experienced detective made your way to the scene and swiftly chastised an loud Oni named Itto for trying to start a band which had kept his neighbors up "ugh I'm so sorry for him officers please it's my fault for not watching him" a young lady with green hair begged "don't worry Shinobu, we're just informing Itto to keep it down not arresting him- at least not yet" Heizou laughed

"Thank you" she said happily but her aura and the Oni's frightened face told she was enraged but it didn't seem to be directed at you or Heizou at least "well we're off then see you another time!" He called as the two of you left

"So do you know them?" You asked curiously "pff you'll get to know them too. That was Itto he's a bit of a trouble maker but he means no harm he's just a bit of a...kid I suppose" he chuckled trying not to be mean to the innocent Itto

The two of you spent the rest of the day investigating small crimes as it was a slow day with relatively peaceful. Sadly you didn't work with Heizou for most of the rest of the week until Friday which sadly went by quite quickly.

"Hey (Y/n)! Wait up" Heizou called from behind you before you left for the day "I think we both have the day off tomorrow right? Well~ I was wondering- would you like to hang out maybe get dinner then go to that firework show they're holding? I'll pay of course" he smiled brightly "well- uh I-I"

you really wanted to go Heizou was really nice and fireworks sounded fun but, Sara would never allow you to go out with a boy on your own even if you where just friendly coworkers "My sister wouldn't-" you started "Don't worry about her I heard she got a date today too" you blinked, Sara dating someone? I guess theirs a first for everything "well in that case sure!" You blushed "see you tonight then!" He winked before grabbing his bag and leaving

"Wait did he say 'Sara got a date SOO' DOES THAT MEAN WERE GOING ON A DATE?!?" You brown errored "Hey sis! You won't believe what happened" your sister jogged up to you "I got a date" she half squeaked "o-oh good for you" you smiled trying to get over that you also got a date without even realizing it

That night just as Heizou guessed Sara left early giving the both of you ample time to have your own date. *knock knock* someone knocked on you door, you where wearing a casual dress for your date it was your favorite color with a accents of purple onikabuto and flowers stitched in an alternate pattern along the sleeves and collar "don't be Sara who forgot something, don't be Sara who forgot something" your brain chanted not knowing how to explain why you were ready to leave the house

You slowly opened the door "hello (y/n)" heizou grinned holding a small box with one of your favorite flowers tied to the top "this is for you" he handed you the box which was filled with you favorite candies "how did you know these where my favorite?" You blushed astonished at the thought he must've put into this

"just observation dear- not in the creep illegal was!" He realized "like... I've seen Sara get these and I know she doesn't like any sweets so.." he blushed "hehe very observant, let me go put this in my room quickly"

When you got back Heizou held your hand as you walked to komore tea house. Walking in, the air smelled warm and herbal. You looked to the counter spotting a shiba dog "that's Taroumaru" the dog barked "hello" you wave to Taroumaru

The two of you were brought to a room by a kind tall blond man who took your orders. "Do you come to this tea house often?" You asked "only certain people are allowed at the tea house I just called in a favor from a friend" the two of you chatted, Heizou throwing in the occasional flirt catching you off guard each time causing your face to become pure red

When you had finished your meal Heizou had you wait outside as he played for the meal but you happened to catch him whispering "thank you, thoma" to the blond "no problem, good luck" he whispered back slightly louder

Heizou came though the door intertwining your fingers as you walked to the fire work show. The two of you sat on a small blanket on the grass a few other couples and family's sat and stood around you but luckily didn't hinder your view of the fireworks

The lights crackled in the sky in the shape of stars, schools of fish, and various other fun shapes. Your neck began to hurt from looking up so much and as if on cue Heizou put his arm over your shoulder pulling you closer allowing you to rest you head on his shoulder

The two of you sat in awe of the lights in the sky holding eachother close on the cold of the night

As the show came to an end and people began to leave you and heizou hesitated to leave just yet until suddenly he lifted his head off yours and turned to you "(Y/n)?" He asked quietly "yes?" You turned to him "will you be my lover?" He looked deep into you eyes

You placed your hand on his cheek causing him to put a hand up and lightly touch your hand "of course" you said as you press your lips on his. He melted into the kiss pressing his lips into yours deepening it until the two of you went to take a breath staring into each others eyes

"(Y/n)? Is that you" Sara stood behind the both of you, still holding his face breathless from your kiss "heeey Sara" Heizou saids holding the back of your hand tighter lowering it from his face "you two have a lot of explaining to do"

"Aren't you here on a date too though?" Heizou asked looking into into the still remaining crowd "HEY SARA LOOK THEY HAVE LITTLE FAKE ONI HORNS NOW I HAVE FOUR HORNS! ISNT THAT COOL?!?!" An oni called with a child's head band stretched over his head that had mini horns on it "... I'll still be having a conversation with Both of you later" Sara turned to return to her date "be home by 10" she mumbled

You and Heizou quickly made your way back to town where heizou bought you a silver necklace with a jewel the same color as his hair which was a partial excuse to hold you again as he helped you put it on before he brought you home where Sara was already sat at the dining table ready to have a long talk with you for being home three minutes late

But heizou had it worse and him and Sara had been assigned to work on the same case in the morning
