Arataki Itto fluff - beetle painting

It was the onikabuto torment finals. (Y/n) had one more opponent, their trusted Onikabuto Bluedancer faced Arataki Itto's onikabuto Wildcard.

The two stood unblinking unmoving, just staring at each other. Suddenly Wildcars pounced forward but Bluedancer jumped back just in time before bolting forward knocking wildcard on his side. The larger beetle rocked back and forth trying to get back on his legs. Blue dancer backed up shaking his head before jolting forward and knocking Wildcard onto his back, thus winning and becoming the official beetle battler champion.

"NoOoOo" the oni cried "Wildcard *sniff* you'll always be...the champion in my heart" he cradled the tired looking onikabuto in his arms like a child "YES, good job by little blue dancer" (Y/n) cheered holding their beetle up to the cheering crowd

The next weekend after (Y/n)s victory (Y/n) brought their onikabuto outside for a bit of fresh air and to find berries for beetle battle warrior paint.

"HEY YOU" a familiar voice called from behind them "me?" They hummed turning around to see Itto "yes you! Your the beetle battle champ right?" (Y/n) nodded "HOW DID YOU WIN??? Your beetle is so puny how did you beat my huge beetle?!"

(Y/n) chuckled at the oni man's confusion "blue dancer is strong and agile, plus he's quite experienced" Itto huffed as (y/n) picked some berries "I can't believe- Ooo can I have some berries, please?" Itto  said practically drooling

"Pff- sure just don't eat them all I need them for my beetle" (Y/n) explained, Itto took a hand full of berries "oh yah! You paint your Beetle- wait that must strengthen your bond with him *gasp* that MUST be how you won, teach me how to paint beetles!"

"I...um s-sure" (Y/n) shrugged confused "thank you thank you thank you-" Itto cheered out of excitement "you should grab your beetle if I'm going to teach you how to paint him" (Y/n) smiled "AH YES BE RIGHT BACK COMPADRE!" He yelled as he jogged away

~time skip 20 minutes~

(Y/n) sat on a large flat rock the warm sun flowed through their skin as they enjoyed the weather. The small beetle on their lap impatiently pulled on their shirt as he waited to be painted "calm down buddy we have to wait for a friend" (Y/n) pet the sassy beetle  which shook with annoyance

"(Y/N)! IM BACK I BROUGHT WILDCARD!" Itto yelled from down the road "looks like you won't have to wait much longer" they joked to blue dancer who only stomped his feet

"Huff, Huff I'm.. back" he held up the large beetle which squirmed in his arms "take a seat" (Y/n) patted space on the rock next to them "um sorry amigo but ah I don't think we can both fit on that rock- which is TOTALLY fine because I'm willing to sit on the ground" he smiled flopping onto the grass

(Y/n) looked to the spot next to them then back at Itto, he was right the rock despite being large wouldn't fit the both of them "hmm sorry about that, didn't notice" they rubbed the back of their neck apologetically "no prob-Lamo, now how do you turn berries to paint in the first place?" Itto asked excitedly "just turn them to juice"

~time skip few months~

Despite having joined you for many painting lessons itto was still covered in berry juice by the end of the beetle painting, likely due to his beetles struggling throughout the whole process and Ittos sloppy paint job

"You got some on your face compadre" Itto laughed seemingly oblivious to himself being covered in berry juice "here?" (Y/n) wiped a bit of their face "nope~ right here" he squeezed a berry in his hand and dabbed the juice onto (Y/n)s nose

"Oh hehe, well you have some-" (Y/n) grabbed some of their left over beetle paint "right here" they jumped on Itto to smear the juice onto his cheek

"Well you have some HERE" Itto grabbed (Y/n)s face rubbing his berry juice covered hands on their cheeks

"Well so don't you!" (Y/n) laughed dipping their hands into some of the juice and grabbing Ittos face "-eck so cold.." Itto paused looking at you

"Hah- what's with that look?" (Y/n) said before realizing the position they where in. (Y/n) sat on Ittos lap  leaning over his larger body, the both of them covered in berry juice and holding each others face.

(Y/n)s face flushed red as they went to pull away from Itto "w-wait, you have" Itto pulled one of his hands from (Y/n)s face putting it to his mouth to muffle his nervous giggles and simultaneously covering it in berry juice "you have some right here~" he kissed your cheek right bellow your eye leaving more berrie juice on your face

"...unfair" they mumbled "because you didn't tell me I had any on my lips" they smiled "wait but you don't-" he started before (Y/n) connected their lips

The two moved their lips together coating both their lips in berrie juice and probably saliva before reluctantly pulling away for air

A small tapping sound came from behind them causing (Y/n) to turn their head. Two angry beetles stood on the flat rock where (Y/n) normally sat during their and Ittos painting sessions "it seems we may be having too much fun again" (y/n) laughed at the beetles angry stomps

"Aw fine, but one last thing" Itto huffed moving his arms to your hips, leaning up towards you "you have a little bit for right here" he quickly kissed your neck before sitting up normally and pushing his face into your the spot he kissed and tightening his arms around your smaller frame "...so see you tomorrow for another painting practice at the same time?"

"Of course!" Itto squeezed you tighter as you wrapped your arms around his shoulders "hehe come on now let's get cleaned up before bugs come out and our beetles leave us for dead"
