🖤 ZEREMY'S POV 🖤

I couldn't help but feel that Steven was behaving abnormally around me, despite his anxious, introverted and shy personality. Yet, he seemed rather intriguing to me ever since we met yesterday. I felt that maybe he had an ulterior motive or plan that he was keeping for himself, and it was causing me to feel quite wary and suspicious. Nevertheless, I couldn't deny my growing curiosity and interest in him.

Perhaps being shy makes him look cute too.

What more could Steven be hiding beneath his nerdy exterior?

The second day of working at the London Museum had gone by rather peacefully. I observed Steven managing the items on the counter until one of them unexpectedly fell to the ground. I kneeled down to retrieve it, only to realize that Steven had done the same thing a moment before me, and our hands had touched for a brief moment, leaving us in shock as we made eye contact.

Our hands collided, causing both of us to jolt in surprise. We both shot up and locked eyes with one another. We stayed that way for a long moment, both of us stunned by our sudden closeness.

My heart began to race when his hand touched mine. His touch was soft, gentle, and comforting. I was taken by surprise and couldn't help but stare at him for a moment before snapping back to reality and returning the item.

"Careful. Some of these pieces might be made of glass and will break if you're too rough with them."

I kept my tone friendly yet lighthearted, teasing tone—imitating the warning he had given me the day before about breaking the glass of a sarcophagus.

Steven reacted shyly with a giggle when I said that and I noticed his cheeks turned red with awkwardness.

"Yes, you're absolutely right. I'm happy that you're here today as well for the recall interview."

Steven spoke awkwardly with a shy smile. I chuckled along with him, maintaining my pleasant and friendly demeanor from yesterday as I realized that I had gradually become more comfortable with him despite the fact that we were alone at the gift shop. The setting was perfect as it offered an opportunity for both of us to interact and get to know each other better to build a closer connection.

Hmm... He's so cute. I can't help with it.

I spent my time reorganizing the items in the gift shop, but my eyes couldn't help but observe Steven and his work on the artifacts. He seemed so focused and meticulous in his job and it was really impressive. I was drawn to him and wanted to know more about his life. I found myself wondering what he did in his free time... but I was too timid to start a conversation and ask. I couldn't help but notice his good-looking features and sparkling eyes.

He was definitely my type... but maybe all of this was just wishful thinking on my end.

As we both continued with our duties, I could feel that Steven's demeanor with me had changed. He wasn't as anxious or shy as he was before. Instead, he was more friendly and open, and I could see that he was beginning to let his guard down with me. I appreciated this change as I felt like we could develop a deeper understanding and connection with each other.

"Hey."

We both stared at each other simultaneously, saying 'Hey' in unison and yet, neither of us knew who should make the first move. It was an awkwardly cute coincidence as we both didn't know where or how to start or proceed with the conversation.

"You know I was thinking..."

"No, you can..."

"After you."
