XIII

First mission: Second task

Just a second after I finished my task, Mr. Nero's voice devoured the entire room again.

"Erneis unveils, you can now go to your respective dorms and rest."

Tinapunan ko ng tingin ang mga kasama ko. May ibang ngiting tagumpay at may iba pa ring parang pinagsuklaban ng langit at lupa ang mukha. Mukhang iilan nga lang talaga sa amin ang nakatapos ng first task. First, dahil alam kong may kasunod pa iyon.

I placed back the paper on the table.

"Ang hirap, grabe! Halos hindi ko kayanin!" Laurie exclaimed, plastered on her face was washed with exhaustion.

While there I was, still in daze of everything that happened. I feel like I bursted all of my stamina in the last task.

All I wanted to do now is to just sleep and obtain the enough rest I needed. Kaya tuluyan na din akong nilamon ng antok nang makabalik sa dorm room namin. I was just jolted awake when I heard loud bum that made me go back to my senses. I turned only to see Aiki. She apologetically smiled at me and even peace signed. Mukhang sa kanya nanggaling ang ingay.

"What noise was tha-oh good morning mon ami!" bulalas ni Florice nang makitang gising na ako. "We made breakfast, kain na tayo!"

Wala na akong nagawa nang hilahin niya ako patayo papunta sa table. Ochea was already prepping our food and was talking with Eli and Laurie. I twitched myself when I realized that they were all already wearing their uniforms. Handang-handa na nga sila habang ako'y kagigising pa lang.

"Don't worry, Rei. We're just early." ngiti ni Eli sa'kin. "Pasensya na. Nasobrahan lang kami sa excitement."

"Why?" I asked and got myself bacons and some heeping hot potatoes. I was probably so tired yesterday that I couldn't even clean myself last night. I was just so drained, physically and mentally.

"Logic tests!" ani Ochea at tumabi sa'kin. "Simple pero iyon kasi talaga 'yong parang stimulus switch namin. You know, napapagod ka sa mga tasks pero parang itong logic-based tests yung nagpapabalik ng energy at motivation mo na tinake up ng missions." she laughed.

"I must say..." sang-ayon ni Laurie. "Makabagbag damdamin nga naman ang mission kahapon, I admit." she said. "Yung analysis illusion pa nga lang ang hirap na... but the mission literally makes me feel like a meatball. Hindi ko na alam..."

I laughed. She's so cute. Napapasapo pa siya sa noo niya na parang sobrang frustrated.

"Analysis...what?" naguguluhang tanong ni Aiki. Oh crap.

Muntik ko nang makalimutan na hindi pa pala alam nila Ochea yung about sa Dux class advantages like early persona analysis. "Isa ba iyon sa mga missions nyo?" Her eyes met mine that made my heart pump faster. I didn't really wanna lie...

"Yes." ani Eli. I averted my gaze at them and drank my water. I felt uneasy in a while.

'I'm sorry...'

It was Laurie. Mukhang ngayon nya lang din na-realize yung sinabi niya.

"Oh wait, is this your second task already?" asked Florice. For the second time, we lied again. "Then take heart on your last task! Pinakamahirap at challenging iyon."

We brought ourselves inside of the large hall while still talking about missions. Sa lahat ng subjects, including history and training sessions, 'yong mastery class lang daw talaga ang hindi umuulit ng discussions. I guess it's what making these unveils to keep up with it. It just never ran out of thrill for them.

"Good morning, babe. Let me hold that for you." hindi na ko naka-angal nang kunin ni Lestheo ang basket of cosmet na hawak ko. He smoothly blew up his bangs and rose the corner of his lips, obviously annoying me again.
