Part 1: Descend

"Descend from heaven? And start a sect?" Lian questioned Yulan, her head slightly tilted to the side. Yulan nodded.

"Yep. Just the two of us. We can take disciples and train them since we have experience with cultivating," Yulan said. Lian looked deep in thought.

"We can still see our parents and everybody else in the Heavenly Court once in a while. Besides, my A-Die has quite a few methods of teleportation, and they could come to visit us if they like," Yulan added.

"..." Lian commented, still deep in thought.

"Where would the sect be?" Lian asked.

"We could build it in the forest that your fathers planted. Or we could start one far away, in the mountains of Kunlun or the plateaus of Tibet? Oh, far down south is also a good option. The people there are very nice, and they've got cool trees," Yulan suggested with a smile. "Besides, we can't run from the heavens. They'll always be somewhere above us."

"Ah..." Lian pondered for a moment. "We could convert Baba and A-Die's house in the forest into the sect's school. It won't hurt to ask, and they haven't even really used the house much anyway."

With that, Yulan smiled and nodded. She fiddled with Lian's long hair ribbon.

"We won't even lose worshippers. The disciples will be taught by us, and they think that we're just mortals. In effect, free immortality!" Yulan said. Lian slowly nodded.

"What should we teach, though?" Lian asked. She slightly narrowed her eyes in deep thought.

"Music cultivation, the art of the saber, and stuff that your Baba and A-Die are masters in. Not all of the disciples will have the same forte and strength, so I think it'd be better to teach a variety of things that they could choose from," Yulan replied, a little excited. Lian hummed and nodded her head twice.

"Alright, then, let's go ask our parents about it," Lian said. Grinning broadly, Yulan took Lian's hand and summoned a draft of wind to fly on.

"Hm? You want to descend to start a sect and teach mortals cultivation?" Hua Cheng asked, raising an eyebrow. Yulan ecstatically nodded.

Somehow, Yulan and Lian had caught Hua Cheng, Xie Lian, Feng Xin, and Mu Qing when they were meeting up with each other in Feng Xin's temple. Yulan wondered if it was purely by coincidence, but she didn't press the thought. She and Lian sat down and told their parents their plans for the future.

"We don't use the house much, and it could be built for a better cause," Feng Xin said, crossing his arms. Mu Qing nodded slightly.

"We don't have any objections. As long as you're happy." Xie Lian smiled.

"Just make sure not to tell them who you are. Some people may come and try to kill you," Hua Cheng said, crossing his arms. Lian nodded once.

"That's what we were planning," Lian said. She pondered for a moment, then continued. "Since the disciples will be taught under us, we won't lose followers, either."

"En," Yulan agreed, pressing her lips into a flat line.

"So when do you plan on descending?" Mu Qing asked.

"We were thinking right after we asked you guys. We wanted to get started as soon as possible," Yulan replied. Lian slowly nodded. Feng Xin and Mu Qing shot each other a glance, and they softly smiled.

"Alright, then. Since you two have our consent, why don't you go now? We'll help with remodeling and repairing the house into a school," Feng Xin said, cocking his head to the side. Lian and Yulan smiled at each other, then stood up out of their seats.
