From a far distance, it looked as if Feng Xin and Mu Qing were riding on absolutely nothing. It looked like they were floating.

Mu Qing closed his eyes and breathed. Who knew fresh air could smell so good? He never knew. As usual, Feng Xin circled his arms around Mu Qing's waist, embracing him. Mu Qing felt oddly peaceful, and he smiled and put a hand over Feng Xin's arms around him. Both of them knew that there were times when they'd be perfectly normal, getting into heated arguments. But they both knew that there were times like this when they were at perfect peace with each other like this. It was strange how well they got along. Perhaps it was because they liked each other. Maybe this would have never happened if not for the marriage they had.

Feng Xin would never admit it, but he loved every part of Mu Qing. The way his long, black hair flew in the wind, the way he laughed, and every smile he offered. Mu Qing was perfect in his eyes.

Mu Qing loved pretty much the same as Feng Xin. However, he did like it when his deep voice rang out right next to his ear. He loved the way that Feng Xin's face would turn red any time he said something embarrassing. Back then, he only thought of Feng Xin as a way to vent his anger any time he had something on his mind. They would spit nasty insults at each other, and throw hard punches. It had been a normal thing since over 800 years ago, and finally, it had receded. They kept it to little squabbles now and then.

Air blew into their faces as they sped towards the heavenly court. As they approached the gilded streets of the heavenly court, the streets looked a little more vacant than usual. It was fine, it saved them some face. As they hopped off the draft of wind, a junior official appeared. He was from the palace of Nan Yang [cough, cough, Ju Yang HA-] and he greeted them.

"Hello, general. Xie Lian Dianxia sent me to escort you to your temple," the junior official said. Feng Xin nodded in affirmation. The junior official had a strange look on his face when he glanced at Mu Qing. Either way, Mu Qing was his senior, so he had to show at least some respect.

"Thanks. Let's go, then," Feng Xin replied. Both Mu Qing and Feng Xin thought it was weird that Xie Lian didn't come for them himself, but then they considered that Hua Cheng was with him and he wanted to keep his presence a little secret for now. Who knows what they were doing in Feng Xin's temple?

The junior officials led them to the far southeastern part of the heavenly court, coming upon a beautiful and grand temple. It was something in between a temple and a palace.

It wasn't overwhelmingly huge, but it was considerable when compared to the surrounding temples and palaces. Of course, it was Feng Xin's temple/palace/thing after all, and he did rule over the southeast. It had red-tinted white pillars supporting the roof, and it was gilded with gold. It cast a dashing appearance. Soon, Xie Lian burst through the doors with Hua Cheng trailing behind him, arms crossed.

"Hey, guys!" Xie Lian greeted, waving. Feng Xin waved back.

"Hello. How come you guys didn't come to our house to hang out?" Feng Xin greeted back, a casual smile on his face.

"Eh. We just wanted to hang out in the heavenly court with you guys. Sheesh, your temple sure is messy. San Lang and I cleaned most of your guest room up, so it should be ok for now," Xie Lian replied. Hua Cheng was standing to the side, giving them the side eye with the one eye that he had. "So, what'd you guys do? It's only been a day, but I'm curious what you guys did," Xie Lian continued, eyes shining brightly. Mu Qing averted his gaze and fiddled with a lock of his long black hair.

"..." Feng Xin and Mu Qing didn't know how to answer.

"...let's go inside and talk," Feng Xin said after a long while.
