Dear readers,

As I promised, I returned with a new story!

The iris and the rook

The video games are part of my life, especially the ones with great stories. And, I'm quite fond of the old times, such as the golden age of the pirates or the time when the west was still untamed.

That's why the Assassin's Creed video game series inspired me to write a new story. To go back in time to the 1800s, to wander on the streets of the old London, and to create a new protagonist, Adaline Flavia Lanchester.

A story of the 19th century. In which love, loyalty and courage are essential, yet there will be no shortage of tyranny and cruelty. Needless to say, I spiced up the story with some humour... ;)

♡ P.S.: My protagonists are British and live in London, so the story is written in British English. Apologise I spelled apologise instead of apologize, etc. Some North American readers may find this annoying, so as an honest apology, I leave here a bouquet of Zs for you;

Have a pleasant reading!
(The story is available on Wattpad and AO3)

*The story will be whole with 24 chapters and an epilogue*

1868, London

We are in the era of Queen Victoria's reign and the Industrial Revolution. The protagonist of the story is Adaline Lanchester, the only child of a British noble family. Adaline is different from the young ladies around her. Since her childhood, she finds joy in playing the piano and reading the yellowed pages of the books, but her gray days change forever when she meets a mysterious man called Jacob Frye at a ball organized in honor of the queen. By the passing of time, their romance is blossoming more and more, but Adaline makes enemies as well. Soon, the man she fell in love with reveals his true identity to Adaline and he does not hide anymore the fact that he is fighting for the freedom of London. Furthermore, Jacob tells the woman that the blood of crooks sticks to his hands, he tells about the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order that threatens the city. However, that's not all, because soon it turns out that Adaline is not the fragile woman that so many people think she is. What's more, the blood in her veins is a heritage of the past and the threads of this heritage are traced all the way back to the Renaissance Italy...
