: it didn't think it'll go that far :

I finally was able to go back to work.

I worked at 24/7 convivence store.

7-Eleven.

Work was normal.

Finally.

No one feeling pity for me.

It was so quiet you could hear the dust on the floor move around.

It was raining, thundering.

I stopped watching the news ever since, haven't heard a weather forecast in a couple days so far.

I tapped my fingers along the counter waiting for the next customer to come up.

Today was not as busy as usual.

Usually it would be loud, doorbells ringing every second.

So many people.

But today was different.

There were barely anyone here today.

It was better on my behalf.

I walked to the stool that was behind me and sat on it.

I was cracking my knuckles.

Playing with every finger i had.

Cleaning the dirt out of them with another nail.

I was so focused on my fingers i didn't even realize someone was at the counter waiting on me.

I quickly got up and brushed off my pants.

"I apologize, is this all for today?" i ask scanning the items.

"give me a pack of cigs" the guy says.

He sounded familiar.

I scanned those and put them all in a bag.

"Your total is, $11.32" I say.
