Chapter 29

"Talaga? Eh bakit ako yung nakaupo at hindi ikaw?" Pablo raised an eyebrow.

Stell looked absolutely outraged, his mouth opened and closed, but no words would come out.

Alli decided to intervene, bago pa maputukan ng ugat si Stell. "Just sit here on the other side kuya, there's enough space for all of us." Alli tapped the empty space on his left side.

Stell begrudgingly sat down.

After a few moments, Alli set his laptop down. He would just have to continue later; his eyes were beginning to hurt.

"So how were the recordings?" Pablo asked eagerly.

"They were great." Alli suddenly turned business-like.

For a moment, Stell saw their dad.

"Yours was impeccable, Ken's was perfect as usual..." Ken raised his eyebrows at Alli with a poker face, but Alli could tell he was pleased at the compliment.

"Yung kay kuya, I think kailangan natin ulitin, it had a few problems."

Stell looked a bit embarrassed, while everyone else looked shocked.

"I'm kidding kuya... It was perfect." Alli laughed.

Siniko ni Stell si Alli. "Walanghiya ka! Gusto ko pa naman sana magpasikat... I wanted to show you how cool your kuya is." Stell pouted sadly.

Alli felt a bit bad for joking like that. "No matter what you do, and whatever happens... You will always be the coolest kuya of all." Alli said proudly.

Stell beamed and ruffled Alli's hair.

"Ahemm." Josh raised an eyebrow.

"Well... The coolest, after kuya Josh." Alli smiled sheepishly.

"Ay ayoown... Ang ganda na sana ng moment eh." Ngumiwi si Stell.

Lumapit si Josh, at tinapik ang balikat ni Stell, his face morphed into mock sympathy.

Stell narrowed his eyes at Alli.

"T-that's b-because... noong binabawalan mo ako... ng mga bagay bagay noon, when I was younger... Kuya Josh, would secretly give me some— well, whatever you said no to." Alli said quietly.

"Josh!" Stell roared. 

Josh raised his hands. "Don't look at me like I gave him illegal drugs! ... It was just some junk food and sweets... a-and a few street-food." Josh finished guiltily.

"You have Justin now... so give your attention to him... coolest brother mo mukha mo." Stell crossed his arms.

Josh blushed... So did Justin.

Josh and Stell were friends for a long time, Josh often slept and stayed at their house... So Alli thought of him as a sibling... In fact, kahit ibang relatives nila, kilala na si Josh.

"Let's buy some food." Pablo clapped his hands, to dispel the awkwardness.

"I'll do it." Ken stood up. "Dala ko naman ang kotse ko."

Ken would have to order a lot by the ravenous expressions on their faces.

Alli waited for a bit, and looked around, but no one spoke... so he decided to volunteer. "I'll help."

"NO!" Medjo napalakas boses ni Ken kaya natigilan si Alli sa pagtayo.

Ken probably realized the loudness of his voice, so he continued with a softer tone. "It's fine... Kami nalang ni Jah." Ken looked at Justin.

Justin looked at Alli, at Ken, then he nodded and stood up.

Alli was a bit dumbstruck with what just happened. Stell raised his eyebrow but didn't say anything.
