Third person POV

The four people in the room stared at the now-empty doorway, seeming shocked.

"Is Kent really angry at me?" Sicily asked, tears evident in her eyes.

"I'm... I'm not sure. I don't believe I've ever seen that child angry. I didn't even think it was possible."

"He's... not angry," Azrael spoke, still looking at the door. "I believe it is more along the lines of he is disappointed. I'm not sure what secret you are hiding, but I suppose he expected you to agree with his decision, and equally expected that we would ask after listening from the other room. He fully intended to tell us, as long as we asked."

"You're saying he's upset that he didn't have a chance to tell his secret?" Ora smiled brightly. "Again, he just keeps getting cuter."

"I don't think you understand the severity. If there is indeed something that he has been prohibited from telling us and intended to tell us, not only does it mean he fully trusts us, but it was important enough to feel like he was giving a piece of himself to us. As he was prohibited from sharing... it's similar to being denied affection from him for us."

He watched the Bardells exchange a look and then both sighed.

"You'd best go check on him."

Both young men nodded. They were halfway there when Ora looked at the school. "He's not there."

"No. Likely, he won't be back for some time."

"That kid..." Ora sighed. "Do you have any guesses as to what's eating at him?"

"Until today, I was fairly certain he would never accept us in any way. He's always had a way of avoiding any affectionate actions." Azrael looked to the sky. "The best we can do is continue the wedding preparations and hope he shows up. Shall we go check on everything arranged so far?"

"Let's go get a drink at the guild."

"Very well."

Entering the Guildhall, they were immediately greeted by the usual crowd of rowdy men, either drinking, eating, or speaking with the staff. What they didn't expect was the guild master approaching them as soon as they stepped inside.

"You two! I thought you were with your little partner?"

"We did return home earlier. But he's currently off somewhere calming himself down after getting into a fight with his parents." Ora spoke with a smile. Whenever Kent was mentioned, he would smile like an idiot. Not that Azrael blamed him. They were both extremely fond of Kent, and everyone knew it.

"You don't understand. I only let the kid take that mission because I thought you were going with him."

"What mission?"

"The S rank one to deal with the Elder dragon in Hemia."

Ora and Azrael gave each other a look, both shrugged and walked past the guild master to the bar.

"I give it an hour, then he'll stomp in here," Ora said as he sat down on a stool.

"Should be less if he tames it." Azrael agreed.

"Pissed as the little cutie is, he might vent on something first."

"Did you not hear what I said?" The guild master asked loudly, drawing attention to them.
