- It took forever to write this because I just have a good sized stab wound in the middle of my hand and it's sort of hard to do anything with it, let alone write.

on the bright side, we're getting pretty close to 40k and wow. thats a big number

happy reading  : ) -

I didn't end up getting any of the backpacks from that one aisle. That was too bad, all the other ones were more plain.

And none of them even had wolves on them.

But Luz told me that was for the better. I didn't want to believe her. This felt more like sabotage.

At the end of the day though, back to school shopping turned out okay and Luz, Vee and I got to see our schedules when we got home.

Although I sort of just assumed I would have the exact same classes as last year. Why not?

In the car on the way home, Luz and I were telling Vee all about high school.

Vee would always sit at the kitchen table with us every afternoon after school and just watch us do our homework.

She knew how to read and write and was actually really smart.

I think Vee's going to do fine in school, especially now that she's used to staying in her human form for longer and doesn't have to worry about her needing to be a basilisk in the middle of the school day.

When we got home, Camila went straight to her computer and printed out all of our schedules.

She got a funny look on her face when she looked at mine.

It worried me slightly by how bad could it really be? It's just school.

She gathered us at the kitchen island and handed us our papers facing down.

Luz said it was a tradition for her to make these big dramatic deals over new school schedules.

It was something mom and her did for years so she didn't get too overwhelmed or anxious when looking at it for the first time.

Luz told me she still got a little anxious before looking at them, but not nearly as anxious as she did before.

"Ok, ¿quién está listo para averiguar su destino?" Camila asked ominously.

(Okay, who's ready to find out their fate?)

Vee raised her hand. "I am!"

Luz smiled and nodded in agreement.

Camila gave a nod and we all took our papers, keeping them faced down towards the counter.

I swear this was crazy nerveracking.

Camila gave the okay and we all turned the papers over. I read mine top to bottom and most of the classes were normal.

Camila was explaining a few things to Vee when I turned to Luz.

"Hey, what is this class?" I asked, pointing to the bottom row.

Luz took one look at it and stifled a laugh. "Oh noo." She mumbled between small bits of laughter.

"What??"

I hated when she did this.

Luz tapped mom on the shoulder, pointing over at me. "Mami, look."

Mom looked over and nodded at Luz. "I know. Poor boy."
