- Again, thank you so much for 100+ reads! :) To a lot of people and stories, it's nothing but I'm super happy with it! Thank you for reading! -

We all sat on the ground. After 2 more failed attempts to create a portal door, we were back to planning and brainstorming. We had been working most of the day, and while we were talking, Camila came out with sandwiches.

"What if we went and captured those talking rats behind the cafe, and then used their blood in place of titans blood?" Luz suggested. Amity looked at her, horrified. "There is no way we're sacrificing magic rats." She said.

"Okay well, we can use the rats somehow." Luz said.

The only thing we knew if that the door we came through was the front door of the abandoned house in the woods in Luz's backyard. It's also the door Luz came through the first time she came to the boiling isles.

"Should we go check out the Gravesfield honor society?" Willow asked.

Vee shivered. She hated that place. Understandably too.

I bit into a sandwich and listened to everyone talk. There were some good ideas passed around and we even tried one but as the sun went down, everyone was tired and we had worked all day.

We went inside, everyone exhausted, and rested at the kitchen table. Camila typed away at something on her laptop and looked up at us.

"Okay. Luz is all signed up for high school. Do the rest of you want to go too? Once I sign you up there's no turning back."

We all looked at each other, like talking with our eyes. Human real school would definitely be an experience. And if Luz did it then so could we. Right?

"I think I wanna go." Gus said. "Me too." Willow followed. Amity held Luz's hand "Yeah, I want to go too." I just nodded.

Camila sighed. "Okay, so I'm sending all of you?"

Vee shook her head. "Not me. I might have gone to camp but even there I had too many close calls. I can't spend all day in human form. I'll stay here and help around the house."

"Vee, are you sure?" Luz asked. Vee nodded.

Camila typed on her computer for a second. The second dragged on. She clicked one final time and clapped her hands together. "Okay, it's done. The five of you are going to school in the human realm starting August thirty-first. We'll go school shopping tomorrow. Now why don't you guys get some sleep?"

Gus yawned and him and I proceeded to the basement. Flapjack and Emmiline were sleeping soundly on the floor and Gus tucked himself into a little ball on the couch.

I was just about to turn the light off when he called my name. "Hunter?"

I looked at him cooley. "Yeah?"

He looked up, his eyes glistening with tears. "Do you think we'll ever make a portal door back home?"

"Sure we will." I paused, really considering his question. "We're a bunch of talented witches from the Boiling Isles," I wasn't "So we can do anything," I couldn't. "I mean, look how close we got today. We'll figure it out. I promise." I didn't

He nodded at me. "Thanks."

I reached up and turned the light out, burrowing into my sleeping bag like some mammal.

I stared up at the dark ceiling. We couldn't stay here forever. We needed to get back to the demon realm at some point. Preferably before the collector destorys everything. But that might just have been wishful thinking.

- Sorry this one's my shortest update yet! I'm so tired right now and I'm preparing for a dance competition this weekend. (I'm supposed to be packed for the weekend but I wanted to finish late school word and get an update out). I'll try my best to update this weekend but I might not. -
