"I'm gonna have to call the little one as jellybean for the meantime. I don't want to slip up and use she or he during conversation." Grace excuses herself back to where you and Jake are sitting - and places her hand on the small of your back.
"I'm excited to be around this time."
You look up at her, and lean your head against her torso as she stands so close.
"You have no idea what it means to me."
As if the room weren't crowded enough, Trudy seems to make her way in with urgent news.
"Norm are you in here? I can't seem to find any-" and she notices the five of you. "Oh, here you all are. I was coming back from Hometree - Tsu'tey saw me before I took off and he-"
Her eyes land on the monitor, and she forgets everything in that moment that she intended on saying as she enthusiastically 'awww's at the scan on screen.
"Trudy, you can gawk over the baby later. What did Tsu'tey want?" Grace interrupts, worried it may be something dire.
"Oh, right. He's calling for us to meet with the others at Hometree. They're asking for the drivers to come in their Avatars, and the rest are to come with."
"We will have to leave some of our militia behind to keep an eye on the place." Grace reminds.
"I wonder what's so important that they're asking we bring our Avatars?" Norm wonders. "I honestly thought we wouldn't get to use them again."
"Maybe it's something good?" Max suggests. "Maybe they've worked on a compromise."
"Well don't just stand around." Grace says, with one foot already out the door. "We gotta go, come on!"

Jake sits by you as everyone piles in, and already his palm is pressed against your abdomen.
You don't even fight him on it, and simply lean into his hold as Trudy takes off.
Everyone else is following in their own vehicles, or electing to take the walk down there — but it seems Tsu'tey would find importance in Jake being there ahead of the others, so the easy route is what you all take together.
Max is upfront - next to Trudy as it's the easiest place for him to be.
Bert is following a few others, as well as Evelyn in his own scorpion - he's unfamiliar with where Hometree is exactly, so he's tagging shortly behind.
Of course, you feel nauseous about half way into the ride.
Grace leans forward to place a hand on your knee, trying to comfort and distract you.
"You okay?"
You simply shake your head, and lean back into the seat.
Trudy notices in the mirror.
"We're almost there. Just hold on, kid."
You have no choice but to lean over and out of the open side - in case anything happens, you won't get it on anyone.
You'd already avoided the ikran as an option for transport today, yet here you were struggling with this.
Maybe keeping some dire horses around the building wouldn't be so bad.
When you finally arrive - you're off first and excusing yourself as you don't even have time to greet Tsu'tey and N'deh before you take off and disappear into the bushes again.
Don't even have time to question why Ndeh was here for an Omatikaya gathering, but you'd ask later if you could even remember.
"Shit." Trudy places a hand on her hip as she watches you lean into the creek and wash your face off, and rinse your mouth out. "Definitely not letting her take this way back."
