Jake is startled by the way you suddenly jolt up in bed a few nights later.
He had been up reading a book the past hour or so — and surely didn't expect for you to get up, let alone so quickly.

You sit up with a questionable look on your face, one that far beyond confuses Jake as he closes his book and turns to you.

"What?" Jake sets his book down, and reaches over to touch your thigh as you lay in only your elastic shorts for sleep.
"Bad dream?"

"No. I was.. trying to wear my brain out and I got to thinking - I realized something."
You swing your legs over, and hurry to throw on a longer pair of pants as it's awful cold in these hallways. "I have to see Norm, I gotta talk to him."

Jake laughs as you make your way to the door, and barely notice you don't have a shirt on before almost stepping out.
    At least nobody saw you.
"Yeah, babe, may not want to flash our friends. besides, It's past midnight, are you sure they're even awake still? What's going on?"

"I'm sorry." You suddenly skip over to grab for one of his Avatars shirts, and slip it on. "I forgot for a second what body I was in. I got used to not needing any coverage for all those years."

"At least Norms a doctor. He doesn't care." Jake swings his own legs over, and gets himself into his chair before coming to you. "-but how dare you try to flash Trudy? I knew I should have been worried about her to begin with. You're gonna leave me for her aren't you?"

"Don't worry." You lean down to kiss his forehead. "-you have nothing to be jealous of."

He places both hands on tour breasts, and squeezes at your nipples for a bit of a tease.

You grab for his wrists, trying to keep his hands a good distance away before you end up too hard to cover up with the shirt.

The two of you playfully fight around like kittens, almost - batting at one another until he wraps his arms around you and pulls you into his lap.
He almost starts something else when his lips press against your skin, and his nails scrape against your sides as you lean into him.

Until he pulls back and only further teases, at least.
"But seriously, what's going on? Why the need to see our friends so late?"

"I had a question.. about the avatars, is all."

"It can't wait til morning?"

You're .. almost afraid to share your thoughts on this. "No. I won't be able to sleep."

It's clear whatever it is, you're scooting around directly answering — so he decides to come with, and it's not too much longer before you both end up in front of your friends shared quarters.

Grace is still gone for the night, so he's the next best option in this.

Trudy is the one who answers the door, and she still looks plenty awake as she does — smiling as you hear laughter coming from the other end of the room.

"Hey, everything.. okay?" Trudy asks, a bit worried.

"I wanted to talk to Norm. Is he awake?"

Trudy looks over to Jake, and he shrugs. He's clueless in this.

"Yeah, he's up." She leans back in, and calls for him. He shows up with Spider strapped to his chest.

"I'm always up, we hardly get any sleep with this little guy anymore." Norm says as he lets you both come in, and you take a seat at the larger desk as everyone piles back in.

There are so many baby toys around the floor, and makeshift things for him.

It's the first time you've gotten to really see this side of them as a smaller family unit, and it just further adds to that warm feeling of knowing everything is falling into place.
