Why am i even at this party in the first place, i've never wanted to be at a party before, so why did i let Cassidy talk me into going with her?
"oop sorry" i say as i accidentally bump into someone while i was on my way to leave.
"no worries, i was in your way" a deep voice repeats back at me. "i'm connor" he says.
"omg yeah wait connor bedard right?" i say starstruck.
"yeah, you a fan?"
"well kinda, my brother is a HUGE fan" i say to him.
"i'm isabel" i say holding my hand out.
"do people ever call you izzy?" connor asks me.
"not really, but you can if you want!" i say staring into his eyes.
we talk for a long time on the couch, guess i'll be staying at the party for a while. We talk mainly just about hockey, which don't get me wrong, i love hockey! but i want to get to know him better too.
i liked the way he looked at me. you could see a certain sparkle in his blue eyes. i find us both staring into each others eyes, he slowly leans in, but i pull away and give him a look.
"sorry besdy, i don't hook up with strangers." i say grinning at him.
"well first of all, we're not hooking up, and secondly, we're not strangers." he snaps back looking slightly offended.
"let me rephrase that, i don't kiss people i don't know." i say to connor.
"but we do know each other!" he says, practically begging for me just to kiss him.
"connor, the only three things i know about you is that, one; you play hockey, two; you're really cute, and three; i know your going to break my heart." i say to him, slightly wanting to kiss him back.
he looks at me with a blank stare not knowing what to say to that. "if i had you i would never break your heart" he says staring deep into my eyes. eventually we start talking more about our personal lives, slowly i think i start catching feelings.
"tell me about your family" he says to me.
"well, i have a younger brother named skylar, he's 15, and an older brother, Chris, he's 19." "I grew up and live in Winnipeg, my family is just visiting regina for the weekend." i say to him. the last part put a slight frown on his face.
"what brings you to regina? our beautiful landscape?" he jokes.
"oh yeah totally, you can basically see the mountains in British columbia from here it's so flat!" i joke back.
"no seriously what brings you to regina?" he asks again.
"not much, we often just need to leave for a bit. have a little getaway, without getting too far away." i explain to connor.
we talk for probably another hour getting to know each other, and soon it's 1 am. i'm starting to get tired so i warp my arms around connor and rest my head in the crook of his neck. seconds later i feel him rest his head on top of mine, and his arms ingoing around me. then i feel him kiss my the top of my head, so i look up at him. we both stay there for a second, getting lost in each others eyes. i go for it. i lean in closing the space that was once between our lips. he is quick to deepen the kiss, making me fall more in love with him every second.
we pull our lips apart from each other, both in awe of what just happened. i just kissed the connor bedard!
"hey uh connor, my family is leaving in the morning, going back to peg, so what will happen between us then?" i ask him, concerned for his answer.
"uhm well, do you have a number or snap that i could have? then we could reach out to each other?" he asks me.
"yeah here you can have both" i say, he continues to hand me his phone so i can put both in.
"thanks izzy!" he says with a big smile on his face.
we are interrupted by my best friend cassidy walking into the living room, butt drunk, telling me it's time to go. She always comes with us on family trips, she's like my sister.
