He shut the bedroom door behind him. Weiying hurried through breakfast, feeling excitement pulsing in him veins. he set the tray aside before he grabbed him suitcase again, pulling out a white black star printed t-shirt pair with black shorts ducked into the bathroom.

He found it stocked with toiletries, and he washed his hair with a shampoo that smelled like coconut before using a body wash that smelled like the seabreeze

He found it stocked with toiletries, and he washed his hair with a shampoo that smelled like coconut before using a body wash that smelled like the seabreeze. Weiying dressed, styled hair and even found a bag of high-end makeup. He applied mascara and lipgloss before he went back out into the bedroom. Lanzhan had come in and taken the breakfast tray while he was showering.

Weiying headed downstairs. he found Lanzhan standing in the living room, looking at an array of framed pictures on the mantle of the empty fireplace. He looked up when he came in, and he smiled at him, but not before he saw the turbulent expression on his face.

“Are you ready to go?” Lanzhan asked him, and Weiying said that he was.

They left the house and got in the car, but not before he took a moment to look around in the light of day. The house had its own private beach, which was just a short walk from the driveway. The property had been meticulously maintained, and it was surrounded by lush, tropical forest.

The day was already hot, and the air was soupy. Lanzhan drove them into town, with Weiying looking out the window. The water was a gorgeous shade of aqua, a stark contrast to the choppy, slate-colored seas of Caiyi Island. He held his hand as he drove, running his thumb across his engagement ring once again.

“I guess we need to get you a wedding band, then,” Weiying remarked as he looked down at their entwined fingers.

Lanzhan glanced down. “I guess you’re right.”

Weiying let out a breath. “This might sound crazy, but...I’m really glad everything is out in the open now. Thime’s no more lying or pretending or anything.”

“Well...like I said, there wasn’t much pretending from me, not after a while,” Lanzhan remarked.

“Me either.” Weiying smiled at him for a moment. “Can I tell you something?”

Lanzhan glanced over at him. “Of course.”

“I was going to tell you the truth of how I feel about you when we got hime,” Weiying admitted quietly. “I realized I had feelings for you, but...I thought you only saw this as a business deal, and I was afraid that if I told you, you’d call it off because you wouldn’t feel right about it anymore. And I couldn’t risk that, because then you’d be deported. I don’t think I could have handled that.”

Lanzhan chewed his bottom lip for a moment. “You’re right. If I didn’t love you, I probably would have.”

Weiying squeezed his hand. “I’m glad I waited, then.”

They made it into town. Lanzhan parked in the public parking lot, and the two of them walked around for a while. The town wasn’t very big, and was definitely targeted for visitors, but Weiying was still enthralled by the various shops and stores. he picked up a few baubles and trinkets, some for himself and some for him loved ones to mail back to them. he and Lanzhan ate lunch at an open-air restaurant specializing in charbroiled food.
