Lanzhan looked at him. "I don't mind. It's just a friendly sparring match, right?" He gave Jiang Cheng a look.

Jiang Cheng gave him a tight smile, and Lanzhan suddenly wondered if he had made a mistake agreeing to this.

"Right," Jiang Cheng said.

"Alright, back there." Huaisung pointed. "Last thing I need is blood staining up the new carpet here."

The four of them went into a back room that was clearly meant for martial arts. Rubber mats covered the floor and several punching bags were hung from the ceiling or were perched on stands. Jiang Cheng kicked off his boots and shrugged out of his jacket before he strode out onto the mats. He turned back to Lanzhan as he stretched his arms.

"Are you coming or not?" he called.

Lanzhan glanced down at Weiying, arching his brow as the corner of his lips tugged up in a smirk. "What do you think? Think I can take him?"

"Oh yeah," Huaisung said with a snort.

"I heard that!" Jiang Cheng yelled indignantly.

"Good," Huaisung retorted.

Weiying offered him a smile and nudged him with his elbow. "Don't hurt him too bad."

Lanzhan smirked at him. "I love your confidence in me."

He slipped out of his shoes and coat and met Jiang Cheng on the mats, stretching his arms out. It had been a while since he'd sparred with anyone, so he hoped he wasn't too rusty. It would be embarrassing to get his ass handed to him by Weiying's brother.

"I'm reffing," Huaisung told them. He counted off the rules on his fingers, giving the guys a pointed look. "No headshots. No nut shots. Down for five seconds, you lose. And...go!"

The guys brought their hands up and began to circle each other. Lanzhan wasn't taking this too seriously. He wasn't actually going to hurt Weiying's brother. That wouldn't exactly win him any favor. He decided to let Jiang Cheng have the first hit.

Jiang Cheng lahed out suddenly with a tight fist to Lanzhan's ribs. The blow smarted, and Lanzhan made sure to tighten his defense before he threw a punch. Jiang Cheng deflected it before following through with anothis punch. Lanzhan jumped out of the way and jabbed out, catching Jiang Cheng in the stomach.

"Shit," Jiang Cheng grunted. "That actually kind of hurt."

"What, you want me to go easy on you?"

He grinned, white-teeth flashing. "Hell no."

Jiang Cheng feigned a punch and when Lanzhan went to block it, he brought his leg around in a kick that nearly knocked Lanzhan off of his feet. Lanzhan recovered in time to raise his arms to stop anothis punch. Weiying's brother was better than he had anticipated.

"So," Jiang Cheng said as they continued to spar. "When did you realize you liked my brother?"

Lanzhan grunted as he caught Jiang Cheng's fist against his forearm. "The moment I saw him."

"Yeah?" Jiang Cheng jabbed out again, and Lanzhan blocked it before following through with a punch of his own. "That's why he always calls me bitching about what an asshole you are?"

The brazenness of his tone had Lanzhan faltering for a moment. It was enough of an opportunity for Jiang Cheng to kick Lanzhan's leg. Lanzhan stumbled back as Jiang Cheng came at him again.

"I'm an asshole to work for," Lanzhan gritted out as he landed a punch on Jiang Cheng's ribs. "Not to date."

"Really?" Jiang Cheng narrowed his eyes. "Then tell me why the fuck immigration called me, asking if this relationship was legit?"
