Hey everyone! So, we're getting close to the end. The last story I will probably make it like a sneak peek to the series I'm working on, if no one minds. Just wanted to let you all know this book will probably be done today!

"Are you ever going to stop pouting, (Y/N)?" Sariel sighed, but you kept quiet.

Trying not to wince at the pain in your back. Just as he said he would, he found a sword and cut your wings off. He even cut his own wings off, which you refused to watch.

Shivering against the cold, you looked around for some shelter. With most of the humans dead, there were even less angels patrolling the skies. Meaning there was no way for you to get back to heaven until you see another angel. It's been months though.

Finally spotting a church, you started to make your way there, but stopped when Sariel grabbed your arm with a stern glare.

"We're not going to any church." He growled, "Those angels tried to separate us. I don't want anything to do with them on earth."

Finally annoyed at his behavior, you yanked away from him, "You haven't lived as a human for lord knows how long. I was only an angel for less than 10 minutes before you dragged me down with you." You snapped, "If we don't find any kind of shelter soon, we'll freeze. I don't know about you, but I'm not keen on finding out what happens if you die when you're a fallen."

His eyes shifted between you and the church before he sighed, "Fine."

Practically running to the church, you went in. Happy to be out of the cold wind. This winter looks like it's going to be a rough one. Looking around the church, you wanted to cry in relief when you saw that there were several thick blankets in a closet. You won't freeze tonight after all.

Wrapping a blanket around yourself, you sat yourself on a cushioned bench. This will work as a bed for a while. Watching Sariel, you noticed that he was copying you. Wrapping himself in blankets before sitting right by you. Any other time, you would move away, but you're too exhausted to move now.

"Does your back still hurt?" He asked, making you nod, "Mine too. It shouldn't last much longer, probably."

"You've never been a fallen so you wouldn't know." You reminded him while yawning, "If you want to find another place for shelter tomorrow, then we need to get some sleep."

You barely got those words out before you fell asleep. Something warm wrapped around you, that you couldn't help but nestle into more. It actually made you feel safe and forget about the horrible time you're having.

You dreamed about heaven and how peaceful it was. It reminded you of life before the angels attacked. Feeling the warmth of heaven feel a little too real on your face, you remembered that you weren't in heaven anymore. This peaceful paradise is out of your reach now.

Blinking your eyes open, they snapped open when you realized that Sariel was kissing you while holding you. Pushing him away, you wiped your mouth with the blanket.

"What are you doing?" You shrieked, earning a shrug from him.

"Your lips were turning blue. I was warming them up." He smirked, making you roll your eyes.

"Sure, you were." You scoffed, glancing around when you noticed that it was getting almost blindingly bright outside.

Sariel cursed as he ducked and pulled you under the bench, "I knew we shouldn't have come in here. Don't say anything."

Not like you had a choice. He was laying on top of you with a hand over your mouth. Hearing the doors open, your eyes widened when you saw the robed angels that walked in. They must be the last ones for the end.

"There is sin here." You heard a voice speak calmly.

The fact that there was a chance to be saved brought you to tears. If you could get their attention without Sariel fighting you, that would be great.

Feeling a warm wind pick up in the church, you curled up when Sariel covered you more. There was a crashing sounds before you looked up. All the benches were against the walls. The robed angels were looking down at the two of you.

"Sariel." An angel hummed, "So, this is where you went."

You could feel Sariel tense up as he moved to a crouch on his feet. He looked like he was read to attack at any second. Looking at the angels, you hoped they could see your plead to save you.

"Stay away from us." Sariel screamed, before he grabbed your arm and tried to run.

Two angels grabbed him and held him in place. Now's your chance. Yanking from his grasp, you ran to the lead angel and got down on your knees.

"Please help me." You sobbed while pleading, "He dragged me out of heaven. He cut my wings off. Please send me back."

Feeling the angel put a gentle hand on your face, you felt relieved. Behind you Sariel screaming at you. Ordering you to get away from the angel. You have no interest in listening to him now though. Not after everything he put you through.

"Poor little thing." The angel cooed crouching down to look you in the eyes, "He's tortured you and pulled you away from paradise. I'm afraid he's corrupted you completely."

At those words, you gasped as he grabbed your neck. Gasping for air, you tried to pull his hand away. Glancing to the side, you could see Sariel was now fighting the other angels. He even killed them as he looked at you in desperation to get to you. A sharp, sudden pain in your chest made you scream and look back at the angel. He pulled his hand out of your chest, seeming to pull your strength and energy with his hand.

Collapsing on the ground, couldn't speak as you watched Sariel slid on his knees to you and pick you up. Tears streaming down his face as he held you.

"(Y/N), I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I tried." He sobbed, "Why did you go to him? I was protecting you. Why did you choose to trust a stranger rather than me?"

You couldn't answer as you looked up at him. Oddly enough, you felt bad for him and scared for yourself. You were so scared and desperate to get away from him, that you thought an angel would save you. He actually had protected you many times when you were a human and a fallen. He never put you in danger, but you only realized it now. You regret not listening to him now, no matter what he put you through.

Blinking back to reality, you saw he was screaming at the angel while still holding you. Then the angel killed Sariel just like he killed you. Both you and Sariel fell to the ground. His arms still wrapped around you as you could only watch him. Tears still falling from his face as we weakly moved to kiss you.

"I do love you, (Y/N)." He wheezed, as you decided to at least give him a peaceful ending.

You didn't love him, but in the end, you felt something for him. He fought for you and cried over you, how could you not? Managing to find a little strength, you moved your hand to his heart. Hoping he would understand that you cared about him some. His golden eyes widening, before your vision went black and everything faded away.
