Waking up, you didn't dare move a muscle or change how you breathed. It seems like Max always knows when you're awake or he can predict what you plan on doing. It's enough to make you extra cautious around him. Even when you think you're acting normally, he'll suddenly keep an eagle eye on you.

Flinching when you felt his arm wrap around your waist, you stayed still. Hoping that he would think that you were still asleep. You're not that lucky though. He moved to lay on top of you and nuzzled his cold nose on you neck. For someone who's supposed to be a murderer, he's very clingy and cuddly. Though most times, he squeezes you to the point you think he'll kill you. Maybe the lack of contact most of his life makes him touched starved, you have no idea though.

"I know you're awake, Little Prey." He hummed, "No use in pretending."

Opening your eyes, you tried to suppress a whimper as he kissed your neck. You're sure he'll leave another mark on you. When you didn't protest, you heard him let out an approved hum.

"You've been so well behaved lately." He praised, rubbing along your arm where his handprint bruises were, "I think you deserve a little more room to move. You're allowed to roam the rest of the house. Though, you know the punishment if I catch you outside."

"I do." You managed to croak out, as he looked down at you with a wicked grin.

"Good Little Prey." He hummed, kissing you roughly, before he pulled on a shirt, "I'll be back later with lunch."

Watching him leave, you just laid in the bed for a while. You tried to think of how to escape from him and staying away from him. Hearing yelling in the house, you sat up with wide shocked eyes. You had completely forgotten about Rex. If Max wasn't busy torturing you, he was torturing Rex. You're sure Rex is just as eager to get out of here as you are. Actually, you remember he wanted things to go back to normal, before his brother came around. He was willing to put his brother back in jail. That's your only ticket to staying away from Max for good.

Climbing out of bed, you quickly changed clothes and crept to the living room. It was empty and nearly quiet, except for Rex's whimpers coming from the vents. Looking up for a vent, you shivered when you saw the chains and hooks. Max had both you and Rex hanging from though. It seems like it wasn't that long ago, but it easily could have been a few weeks ago. You haven't been keeping track of the days. Looking down, you finally found a vent. It looks like Max is keeping Rex in a basement.

Opening any door, you could, you finally found the one that leads down some stairs. You could only hear chains rattling, but that doesn't mean Max isn't down here. Being extra careful, you stopped in the middle of the staircase to peek around the wall. It was empty besides some bloodied tools and Rex chained to a chair. He was an absolute bloody mess. Wounds along his face, arms, and legs. You almost felt bad for him, if he wasn't the one who put you here in the first place.

"Rex." You whispered, carefully shaking his shoulder, "Rex, wake up."

He let out a groan of pain before lifting his head up to look at you. His eyes widening when he saw you then tears filled them.

"(Y/N)?" His voice was rough, as if he needed a rest from screaming so much, "It's...it's really you."

"Yeah." You grumbled, shaking your head to get the thoughts of pity out of your head, "Look, we have one chance. Just this one, to escape. You know the way back to town. If you take us back, I won't report you to the police."

His mouth opened in shock, before some tears fell down his face, "Really? After everything, you're willing to forgive me?"

"This isn't forgiveness and I'm not your friend." You stated strictly, "However, I'm willing to start off as acquaintances and see how it goes from there. That's if we get out of here alive and put your brother in jail."
