Falling For You

Chapter 2

Aayushman

After dinner Kyra and I exchanged our mobile numbers and decided we would meet tomorrow after work. We left after some time. During our drive back Dad told Mom about me liking Kyra just after looking at her thrice. It made me wonder about the myth, when you meet a person 3 times, it is your destiny to meet them. My parents and brother teased me a lot which made me blush. I changed into my casuals and lay down on my bed. I don't know why, but I decided to text Kyra.

me: Hey!

her: Hi. Didn't expect you to text me so late.

me: Well I didn't imagine myself too, but I wanted to talk to you about something. Can I pick you up at 8 tomorrow? If you don't mind can we go out for breakfast and then head to the office?

her: ummm.. okay I don't mind it.

I kept my phone on the bedside table and stared at the ceiling with a grin on my face. I slept like a baby that night. I woke up and told my parents that I would be going out for a breakfast meeting, knowing that they would tease me if I said I was going for breakfast with Kyra. I took out my black Mercedes and drove off to her house. I called her once I was outside her house. She told me she would be here in a few minutes and so I waited while scrolling on my phone. Soon Kyra came and sat in the car. She was wearing a black suit which made her look a hundred times more pretty than she was.

Kyra

I was kind of shocked at his confidence and agreed to meet him for some time. Honestly, I was done with being single as everyone decided to get married. My best friends are getting married and I no longer intended to be single as I craved the love and attention of someone who would accept me for being me. More than that, everyone was sitting on top of my head as Kiara wanted to get married to her boyfriend, but my nani said a no as she felt that the elder daughter should get married first then the second.

I was laying on my bed and on knowing he wanted to take me out, I agreed. He looked like a decent guy with good manners and maybe once if I give him a chance it may work out between us. I decided to call my best friends, Elena and Aarav to congratulate them. We were talking for sometime, when Aarav said "Well, why don't we meet for dinner tomorrow... to celebrate." I sighed knowing that if I lie to them, then I would need to treat them for an entire week. I said," Actually I'm supposed to meet someone tomorrow for dinner." I smiled sheepishly through the phone and continued," It's my mom's best friends son. He looks like a decent guy. I don't know, I may end up liking him."

Soon I heard  a huge scream from the other side of the room to which I giggled Elena said, "I'll call you tomorrow night. I want all the details. Okay?" I smiled and said, "Yes ma'am, yes sir, at your service. Anyways, Imma go and sleep cause I have to get to work early tomorrow." I cut the call and sat on the bed while thinking how many new things had happened just in one single day.

The next morning I woke up quite early so I decided to go to the gym. On coming back, I got ready and wore my red jeans and a black turtle neck top and waited for aayushman to pick me up. Once I received the text I told my mom, who was up that I was leaving and left. I went out to see Aayushman standing while leaning on the window. He saw me and gave me a smile, which I gladly returned back. He opened the door for me which made me blush a little. He chuckled after looking at my face and went to the other side to start driving. 

The drive was silent as I was trying to figure out how to start the conversation. He drove us to a cafe, which was located a few blocks away from the company, where I saw him for the first time yesterday. The waiter came and asked for the order, to which I replied, "I would like a café latte and a croissant." Aayushman continued and said, "I would like to order the same thing." The waiter left from there and silence engulfed between us. I decided to break it by saying," Let me introduce myself properly. I am Kyra Malhotra. I am a lawyer and I will be working in your company till the next year, because I want to focus on my own dreams later on. So I applied at your company after graduating and I got the job. I know your parents as your father and my father were best friends in schools and they meet up frequently. I didn't expect you to be their son and my new boss." I ended the sentence with a chuckle.

He smiled softly and said," Hello! I am Aayushman Oberoi. Your new boss as well as your Obi uncles son. I always wanted to lead this company. And I actually called you to tell you something important. It's about yesterday night. I wanted to say that everything happened way to quickly. Maybe we should start being friends? Speaking about myself, I can be short-tempered a lot of times and have anger issues, however, I am overcoming them and soon I think I wont be the short-tempered person I was. But for real I love my family and close friends a lot. I would be glad if you accept me as your friend."

I smiled at him and said,"I agree with your point. Our families kind of got over excited and are thinking of getting us married or stuff. I would like to start off as friends. And I love my family very much and I can do anything for them and I like your parents too. I just don't want to end up hurting them if things don't work out between us." I remembered how yesterday night our parents started to talk about getting us married after we agreed to meet each other a few times and how we managed to control their over-excited nature.

We talked for a few minutes and later he left with his car for the company while I chose to walk as the office was very near and we didn't want to get caught together. I went to my cabin and rushed in my assistant who was kind of scared but said, "Miss, the new CEO's want you with the revised file of the upcoming collaboration in 10 minutes." Luckily, I had completed the file before leaving yesterday so I quickly, took it and went to their cabin. I knocked on the door and heard a soft come in from the other side. I went in with the file in my hand to see Aayushman working on the couch with his white sleeves rolled up and his hair messed up, completely contrast to his looks a few minutes back. 

Someone came behind me and said, "Calm down bhabi it's the office." I turned back to see Abhimanyu smirking at me to which I took a long breath and ignored him completely and went to Aayushman and said,"Sir, here is the file which you asked for." He took the file and went through them. He identified a few changes that were needed to be made and said, "I want them to be printed by lunch time and there will be a meeting with all the department heads after lunch." I said okay after taking the file and left for my cabin. However a person dashed in at the same time which made me fall.  He announced in a loud voice,"HELLO BROTHERS,I'M GETTING MARRIED!" 

On recognizing that voice of none other than my best friend I threw the file which I had in my hand on his head, which obviously hit it perfectly making him yelp and turn at me. "F*cker , look before you walk in or you may regret it", I mumbled while he came and helped me stand up and apologized while holding his ears". I looked in the front to see the two Oberoi brothers staring at us cluelessly. 

I said with a sheepish smile," So umm this my stupid Bestie Aarav and his soon-to-be wife and I are best friends too. We met at Uni in New York and have been inseparable ever since. I'm sorry if it looked weird but I couldn't stop myself. I bowed down and went out to get my work done feeling embarrassed.

Aayushman 

I was working when I got a call from Mr. Ben preponing the meeting that was supposed to be held next week to tomorrow. I immediately started working, while being angry at him for informing us very late. I wanted to see the final draft of the contract so I asked my secretary to send Kyra with the file ASAP. She came in quickly and showed me the file. I went through it and went made the necessary changes and asked her to get the print. Soon I heard a yelp and looked up to see Aarav standing in front of me and Kyra on the floor. Kyra took the file in her hand and then threw it aiming at Aarav's head. My eyes widened when my never asking for forgiveness best friend asked for her her forgiveness. Abhi too came besides me and looked at them in shock. 

She told me that they went to Uni in NYC for graduation and he is gonna marry her best friend. I nodded my head and she left the room. I congratulated him on his engagement. We talked for a few minutes when Kyra knocked at the door. She came in with the revised file which I quickly went through and approved. I could see Aarav and Kyra trying to communicate while mouthing at each other through my peripheral vision. I said, "You both can talk I don't mind it." I heard Kyra say, "No sir it's okay we are done. And I have to get done with the files." I looked at her and gave her a are-you-serious look and said, "OKAY.", I a weird voice. She was about to leave when she asked, "Sir, may I ask you how you know him?", she pointed her finger at Aarav.

 "Abhi, Aarav and I were together at boarding school and are best friends since diapers." She made a O Face and mumbled a small that you and left. Aarav went to work as he had a meeting and then I got back to work. I was almost done with my work when I decided to text Kyra that I would be picking her up at 7.
