Paradiso
Sensual overload overwhelming
Visual beauty so exciting
Frothy waves rolling to shore
Smoothing vast expanse of sand
Bronze bodies attached to surfboards
Riding endless supply of frothy waves
Deep blue water glistens in sparkling sunlight
Beneath a vast expanse of clear blue skies
Puffy clouds embrace mountains
Clinging to craggy volcanic peaks
Assuming shapes of birds and animals
Nature dominates the seashores here

The land, the mountains dominate
Covered with flowering greenery
Palm trees wave in trade winds
Tall trees scrape the sky like giants
Thick vegetation covers everywhere
Plastered on cliffs and sides of mountains
Bamboo, palms, trees of every description
Microclimates make the weather
Variable on different island locations
Heavy rain with no thunder
Forever warm and sunny

Flowers dominate the landscape
Vivid reds, yellows, violets, pinks
Colors all across the spectrum
Sprouting from trees and shrubs
That twist and turn in every direction
Exotic flowers of every description
Thrive in the land of splendor
Magnificent explosion of nature

Trees with intertwined branches
As if trying to hug one another
Some covered with carbon black
Close to expansive beaches
Sand peppered with black lava
Waves swelling up near shore
To crash intro the sandy beach
Spreading frothy water inward
In a perpetual show of power
The power of the creators love

Birds of every type fly and walk
Amongst the scrub and grass
Heads bobbing and turning
Looking for a tasty morsel
Left by careless tourists
Little ones dive quick
To grab a food item
Flying away to steal
From slower pigeons
In an endless game
Of survival

Narrow, curvy roads snake around the coasts
Rising from two hundred to ten thousand feet
Requiring hours to reach the summit
Rain falls from clouds clinging to sides
A volcanic crater dominates the peak
Caudate long dormant but huge
At least twenty degrees colder

Indigenous people very friendly
Courteous and quick to smile
Life here is not that different
From most other places
Lots of cars and trucks
Fill the many highways
What makes it so special
Is the spectacular scenery
Imagine being near the ocean
Almost everywhere you go

People sit along the shore
To watch the blazing sun go down
Across the rippling blue water
Scenic splendor never bores
Silhouette figure near the water
Play in the crashing waves
This is Paradise on Earth
Like nothing I've ever seen
