As Weiying approached the table, He saw that Xichen and His fiancée had finally arrived. Xichen saw Weiying first, and a smile that Weiying could only describe as shark-like creased His face as He stood up and extended His manicured hand.
“You must be Weiying,” Xichen purred at His. “It’s so nice to meet you. Lanzhan has told me so much about you.”
“Thanks. It’s nice to meet you too.” Xichen had a strong grip, and Weiying had to resist the urge to rub His hand when Xichen released His.
Xichen gestured to the pretty Omega beside Him as He sat down. Weiying sank into His seat beside Lanzhan.
“This is my fiancée, Meng Yao,” Xichen said.
Meng Yao beamed a smile at Him. “It’s so great to meet you! We’ve been wondering when Lanzhan would find someone.” He gave him a pointed look. “Though you have been keeping His from us.”
Weiying peeked sideways at Lanzhan. He almost couldn’t believe how well Meng Yao and Xichen were acting.
“Sorry,” Lanzhan muttered. “We had to because of work, you know.”
“Well, I for one am glad it’s out in the open now.” Lan Qiren smiled at Weiying. “I’ve always been fond of you, Weiying, and I’m glad you’ve grown fond of my nephew as well.”
Weiying looked at Lanzhan and smiled. Fake it ‘til you make it, right? “How can I not? Lanzhan is an amazing person.”
“Perhaps you can get him to lighten up,” Xichen remarked. “He can be such a wet blanket.”
“Don’t I know it,” Weiying chuckled, and Lanzhan scowled at His.
“I hear you’ll be meeting our mother via video call later this week,” Xichen remarked.
Weiying nodded. “Yes, I’m looking forward to it.”
Xichen smiled. This one seemed more friendly. “I’m sure she’ll like you.”
“I hope so,” Weiying replied. “Lanzhan has told me so much about Her And your Brother.”
“Half-brother,” Xichen corrected sharply.
Meng Yao nudged him. “ Alpha .”
Xichen distracted Himself by taking a sip of His ice water. “Mm.”
Meng Yao leaned closer to Weiying. “So, have you guys decided on a date? Me and Xichen are in the middle of planning our wedding, so if you need any help, I’d be happy to give you some recommendations.”
“Thank you, Meng Yao,” Weiying said. “We...haven’t decided on a date.”
“And whose ring is yours ? I didn’t notice it,” Xichen said.
Weiying looked down at his bare hand. “Oh. Um…”
“We haven’t gotten one yet,” Lanzhan answered. “We’re going to pick it out together. Tomorrow.”
Weiying’s eyes flashed to him before He recovered. “Uh, yes. Tomorrow. Lanzhan wanted to choose it together.”
“Aww, that’s so sweet!” Meng Yao gushed.
“How kind of you, nephew,” Lan Qiren agreed. “I did the same thing with my Omega.”
“Us both Omega need to get together sometime soon,” Meng Yao chirped. “We’re going to be... brothers-in-law? Is that right?” He frowned thoughtfully.
Xichen patted His hand. “Let’s not get too technical, shall we?” He smiled at Weiying. “But I do agree with Yao. We can have a day out. Do wedding stuff.”
