Washing Ashore

The first crack of thunder

To the first flash of lightning

Just like the ocean,

The world can be frightening

The boat it rocks

The sky it darkens

The world we thought

Begins to be forgotten

Then you flip

And splash

And hopelessly take your last breath

Before you meet a shameful death

And all that remains is your body

Your body that washes ashore.
